What to do, if you`re friend is racist [CLOSED]

Lured my friend to play this game again, hehe.
And we got a problem from a start. He play`s always as dot mage. And well, he didn`t like sorc, so I suggested him a magblade...emm okey back to topic.

Problem is, to play a mage, he " must " choose Altmer or Dunmer for magblade, but he refuses to play as elf. So, I suggested him Breton, and he said..." They have elven blood, annd they are too short ". srsly whats wrong with him >.>
He wants to play Imperial, and only Imperial. Well, can`t judge him on that, since Imps are my fav too, but stil i think, he will be kinda useless on champion lvls as imperial magblade?
Any suggestions how to make atleast something " playable " for him?

If he will play pvp the impetial is a great choice , i have 3 magika imperial toons and they are stronG.

LOL If this post is serious, then just let your friend be an Imperial, I very much doubt they will ever get to a stage where min/max matters.

You could tell him to play an Imperial Stam Sorc, they're still Sorcerers but they add a bit of swordplay to their magic

I think the problem is with you trying to force him to play a race/class combination he doesn't find fun. He will never get to that point where dungeons or trials get viable if he quits halfway because he finds his character uninteresting.

I`m not trying to force him to play as elf. Since it`s useless, it`s like trying to force me, to play as female( Spoiler, it`s impossible ).
He already plays as Imp mage right now. I just fear, that he will ragequite on high lvl because of " min/max meta " army.

That is gear choice. Which actually does matter. The passives in the medium armour tree help dps immensly while the difference in race passives really doesnt.

Also you are telling someone else they have to use a certain race but then dont use the proper armour type or weapon combo for best dps?

Unless he is going to try to do leaderboard content he should be fine. Race certainly helps but it isn't a build destroyer. Also if he is a sub par player the extra health and stamina will help him survive things that would otherwise kill him.

If bunch of high lvl people will tell me, that he will not ( and not just because I asked them to tell me that ), then we can close this thread.

You should just tell him the pros and cons of everything and let him choose in the end. He will have to deal with the concequences of that choice himself later on, if there are any.

Well if youre talking about pug dungeons, people hesitate to kick even if someone is not playing their role properly and dies all the time. I've never ever seen anyone being kicked for having a wrong race. Last week I've met 2 argonian dds, for example, and no one was against having them in group. And most of people arent paying attention, so they wont tell if your friends char is a breton or imperial. I've got a breton with imperial name, and never had any issues in groups

If you join a decent guild it shouldnt be a problem if your friend can pull his weight. If you pug via group finder tool, there are people who would attack you for anything, even for trying to explain the tactic. But who cares about those types, right?

That being said, imperial is not optimal for magicka classes, but if your friend is ok with that I see no issues.

Well, I didn`t have a problem with normal pugs too. Problem appeared when I started to queue for vets. ( Damn that monster helmet set, is hard to get )

Sorry, I didn`t understood what you meant by that. Can you please say in different words? As you can see by my numerous grammatical mistakes...english isn`t my biggest strength.

Anyway to the OP's question, if what he plays isn't fun, then he won't have fun. If he gets to endgame and wants to become a min-maxer, there is plenty of time (and he has plenty of character slots) for that.

So I would say support whatever way he wants to play, if he runs into problems point him to good advice/youtube videos or practice with him.

Heck, kiting skillfully can make a huge difference, everything else aside

And then get kicked from high lvl dungeon, just because he isn`t in " meta " race/class....you know that I will have to run with him, and my build isn` in perfect " meta " too, so 2 strange creatures hardly will be tolerated >.>

He will not be kicked from any dungeon for race choice. He may be looked down upon if he wants to do hardcore leaderboard level endgame trials..... thats it. Race matters so little in this game that some of the best players dont use "perfect" race choices

I envy you. I get kicked like 4/10 times, for using heavy armor and 2h/dw on stamblade. So i have little " faith " that he will be treated better.

That is gear choice. Which actually does matter. The passives in the medium armour tree help dps immensly while the difference in race passives really doesnt.

Also you are telling someone else they have to use a certain race but then dont use the proper armour type or weapon combo for best dps?

I invested long time in creating my build, it does dmg. But topic isn`t about me. Or I feel we will go from original topic kinda fast.

If bunch of high lvl people will tell me, that he will not ( and not just because I asked them to tell me that ), then we can close this thread.

This topic is definately about you. It is you trying to force your friend to play a certain race for his build for min/max reasons but then hypocritically using a build that is very much so not min/max.

Close this thread then because only other trolls will tell you that you are in the right in this issue

If the main question is "Will [anyone] be kicked for [reason]" in general the answer is yes.

It's not worth worrying about. Unkind people will be unkind.

If I recall correctly some of the top guilds in both PvP and PvE have players with class, race, and attribute combinations that aren't ideal, yet clearly they still manage. It sucks that we can't min-max freely with racial passives, but it also isn't the most important factor of your playstyle.
