I have an argonian templar healer and I wondering if I could use the Combat Physician as a secondary set in PVP (in PVE now SPC is a must, so...)
I'm thinking something like 2 monster set Pirate Skeleton for stay up in combat and then 5 Combat Physician and 5 Lich (jewerly and sword and shield. The question is, CP proc and I could use to put some decent defense on my party or is better grossamer or similar?

So you want to run 5 light armor in PvP on a templar? Sry that wont do it. You can certainly try gut youre kinda forced to use 5 heavy armor. You could think about using Combat physician instead of lich and use a sustain Set like seducer in heavy armor

No thanks. Much better sets to be had.
Haha, I see that the negativity is still there for this set!!
I have played with it for a bit doing both healing dungeons and soloing in PvE and I personally find its a VERY good set for soloing in PvE, especially when you are battling bosses or doing delves. The cool downs doesn't affect me as much when soloing because im usually doing dmg and only heal when i have very low health. I have high spell crit so it will almost always proc for me.
However, For group dungeons, it isn't the best. The shield procs to a random player who was healed and the 6 sec cool-down is too long.
But there has been instance when the tanks health was quite low, so I used ward ally on them, the set procs and he gets the sets dmg shield, and then I decide (for the fun of it) to us IG shield and the tanks ended up having 3 different shields on him! It made him impenetrably for 6 seconds. lol
So I think I will use this as my main questing/soloing set and might combine it with something the boosts mag recovery and spell dmg.
For dungeons/Pugs I might go to WGT and farm for the SPC set.

Why u need small shield for delves or world boss? You can use harness magicka and good dps set.
Im just gonna revive this thread to ask a few question. I recently farmed 5 (purple quality) pieces of this set and it looks like it might be a pretty decent set.
However, as soon as I went online to read more about this set, it has just been constant negativity. It seems like the majority of players say this is the worst set for a healer.
I healed some normal dungeons (PUGS) and loved that it proc when I used healing ward on a player that took heavy dmg, or when a player is overwhelmed and has low health. But again, the shield is random and based on crit healing dmg only.
It also seems like it might be a decent soloing PvE set, especially for delves and world bosses since it can proc on yourself.
So for those who use it. What do you use it for? PvE? soloing? PvP? and what other set do you combine it with?
Just have to put this in here...
Puncturing Sweeps on Templar does proc the shield on you. So yes, can be used quite reliably, as you get 4 chances to proc it every 1.1s. Unless having a shield happen while you are dealing damage is a bad thing? Works very well when pairs with Iceheart.
So head+shoulder: Iceheart (Light/Medium)
Jewelry+Belt/Glove: Combat Physician (Light)
Chest: Heavy
mix and match rest to your preferences, since you'll be doing a 5/2/4 setup with those sets. But your critical damage/heals from sweeps will have 20% chance for Iceheart shield/dot aura+chance for shield from combat physician.
Makes a pretty decent combination. Throw in Julianos for the hell of it.

A dk healer could make great use of these and have 3 shields, but I don't know depends how you play . How often do you dps?If so yes. How's your substain? Try lich or more hots. Are you overhealing? Try using a group buff set instead. What your overall dungeon success rate? if you are failing then you have to think what are you doing wrong.

Sweeps doesn't Proc the Damage Shield...
I wish it did, but it doesnt...
