I hope this isn't in violation of any kind, just thought maybe not everyone knew about this offer.

Some of my guild mates got their morrowind even cheaper (~15€). So it feels like the only people who got scammed are those who bought a dlc at the price of a full game from the official zos store.

Agreed. Saw the Steam sale price, and ESO Morrowind wasnt even on their 1st page of top selling games during the Summer sale.

CDkeys.com is a marketplace that sells keys that were bought with stolen credit cards (same as G2A and Kinguin).

If the game was bought from G2A, Kinguin, or CDkeys, those keys were bought with stolen credit cards.

Sure you got a good deal, but you also supported credit card fraud. And there is always the risk of your account getting banned (most devs won't do it, but it's there).

I also worked in e-commerce for a few years so I know how these scams work. Someone will use a stash of stolen credit cards to buy a bunch of items (we had people with 100+ stolen cards sometimes attempting to buy so they don't get flagged by the system; making a few innocuous purchases with each card). If they got through security, they would then flip these items on marketplace sites. It's something that happens dozens of times each day (these people make a living off of this).

Most publishers won't ban you because the CD keys were bought from retailers, not the publishers directly, so they gain nothing by banning you (in fact, they could even lose potential revenue that you would have contributed through microtransactions).

If you've ever bought from one of these market place sites, you'll find that sometimes the CD key you enter has already been banned (meaning the fraud was detected before the key was registered). That's why they sell the $1 insurance.

Here's an old official post about fraudulent game keys and where not to find them:
    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/171736

Lots of people had their accounts deactivated back in the day, so be aware that's a possibility if you buy from a questionable source.

P.S. You can find lots of legit deals on slickdeals, too, but that doesn't mean this is one of them.

Iv seen discovery packs / upgrades sold for PC less than $18...no idea if legit. Just Upgrades around £10...

Pretty much knew after a few months once all the bugged content made it through to consoles and ignored on PTS and early access, with BG being insanely crap for many reason....the price would crash.

A few more months and it will be even cheaper...

CD Keys didn't make the cut. I will be aware of this next time they offer a deal.

My second ESO account was on a key I got from g2a. ZOS disabled many accounts on keys from there based on stolen credit cards being used to initially buy the key (so they can resale on the key sites for way under retail, and still pure profit)

I had to buy a new key and get a refund from G2A. It happened to many people.

Yeah, I don't see the point in risking an unauthorized retailer when ZOS is already reckless devaluing their own product.

The site is 100% legit, but it just allows you to search deals that have been posted. So, the specific deal might not be legit, but the site itself is.

It's a very nice site when building a new pc. Saved $400+ building my last pc.
