Always Binary Gender Options in Character Creation?

I'm curious if in ESO we will always have to choose between male/female when creating a character?

There are probably many quests and content in the game that use gender-specific pronouns so it might be an unrealistic ask (too much work) for fully immersive implementation of characters who aren't binary, but perhaps at the very least, in the future, additional options could be considered during character creation?

I also understand that TES is a fantasy world, so it would be understandable if the inhabitants of this universe only exist in binary, as it could be explained in a lore-specific way. Just curious if this has been or will be considered.

    These kinds of things pretty much went out the window once we had Voiced Dialog. Storage requirements are big enough with variations based on the genders we have now.

    Besides, our characters have undies on, what they are hiding we will never really know, will we? So, make it anything you want, equipment wise.
    Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    ZeniMax Media Inc. is situated in a fairly conservative country. I would be more than surprised if more (or no) genders got added to the game for mammals (human, elf, khajiit).

    Because there are only 2 character models per race.

    You only have two options, because there are only two sexes. Only those affect which armor model is going to be used on your character .

    well you can still make a char, that would look like not binary, but something else, right :)?

    Judging from what little I know from a game development standpoint: No there are none and will be no plans to provide additional gender options.

    What exactly are some examples of non-binary gender options?

    you must be referring to INTERSEX PEOPLE

    there are ZERO and i mean ZERO things keeping you from achieving this gender identity via role play. character creation is vast and full of options. you can go as masculine or feminine as youd like in both the male and female options. I dont understand the need for that very specific option when all the bases are essentially covered.

    Do you want specific dialogue from NPCs? Please clarify

    Nothing stopping you from roleplaying this. Absolutely no need to add additional genders. The gender you choose at the start of the game is only similar to the gender you're born as in real life - it doesn't have to determine how you identify yourself.

    But you're not choosing a gender, you're choosing a sex. You can play as either gender irrespective of the sex.
