Um...it's a pvp event. During the event, you get to charge your toon with a buff like all the other event buffs, but this one offers double AP for two hours. In addition, reward for the worthy emails and pvp quest turn ins will reward a gold box. (A pvp quest is the ones from the base, like scroll capture...NOT town repeatables). The gold box will contain rare items...akaviri and Alliance motif and style stones, housing recipes, coldharbour siege, hakeijos, forward camps.

I think they are also throwing in lag and game crashes for free, lol.
