Some items were bugged and could not be laundered.. it was SUPPOSED to be being looked into. Was new stuff with Morrowind.
So was gonna start a new topic... but then saw this one... I have the same issue and here is my tale:
So... I was looting stuff in Vivec City trying to find some Morrowind furniture recipes. Mostly had absolutely not luck whatsoever. I did however manage to find a painting in one. Velothi Triptych, Volcano - to be precise.
Since it came from a strongbox it was obviously flagged as stolen.
I then ran to the local Outlaw Sanctuary with the intent of laundering it and then placing it in my home. But when I got to the fence and tried to launder I was met with the message "You may not launder this item at the fence."
It's the exact same message you get when you try to launder one of those Legendary items on Kari's hit list. The ones you can display in the Thieves Den.
Since I can't launder it, I can't place it in my home, I can't deposit in my bank, I can't sell it to another player, I can't do anything with it. Well except maybe sell it. It's the only thing I haven't tried. And why would I? It's's the only purple quality bit of Morrowind furnishing I've managed to find despite having looted thousands of containers, drawers, cabinets, back bags and urns of all sorts. I want to launder it and place it in my home.
But I can't, so it's stuck in my inventory. And this is a real issue since if I get caught by guards or killed by them I will lose it, since it is a stolen object. So far my one daily use of Clemency has saved me a couple of times. But I had a really close call when a pickpocket attempt went bad, the idiot got aggressive and I ended up killing him. This led to a high enough bounty for the guards to attack me on sight. Luckily I had an invisibility potion hot keyed and managed to get away from the guard for long enough to log out. But that certainly made it clear to me that I can not continue doing Thieves Guild content with this character until this issue with the un-launderable painting is dealt with. That or just accept that ZOS makes crappy software and kiss good bye to the only really cool thing my several tens of hours of grinding in Morrowind has produced.
Since neither option seemed all that inviting I tried to get help form customer service. And boy was that ever so useless...
It took three attempts to offer "feedback" about the issue I had before I was contacted by someone for customer services. And their suggestion... Try posting feedback about the issue though the in-game menus. Which is beyond silly, seeing as the ticket he was responding to was generated by that very same feedback function.
Well anyway, posted a fourth ticket and got a different rep who suggested the all so famous and popular "Try turning of any add ons and try relogging in 15 minutes." Well unsurprisingly that had absolutely no effect. I mean if an add on could affect an item in such a way as to make it un-launderable... Well that would sound like some really flaky coding, and an opportunity for all sort of exploits.
Well anyway - none of that worked and thus I was left with the most dumbest thing I've ever heard from a customer rep: "Post about it in the forums and hope some dev reads it and does something about it." Like WTF? You mean the customer service people can't contact anyone from the development side and tell about an issue a customer has. Maybe ask some info they can then relay to the customer. Or at least point the customer as to who they should contact.
The idea that things are "fixed" by adding a notice about a bug on a board in hopes that it gets noticed is ludicrous. But what can I do... Here I am doing just that, since customer service was of absolutely no help what so ever. Maye I'll finally get lucky and get an actual response from someone who actually knows something. Sure would go a long way towards balancing the absolutely atrocious luck I've been having with RNG and Morrowind drops.
- Also... Did a quick tour of the major trade hubs and could not find single one on sale anywhere. And when I asked my guildies about it I got few people who had to share similar stories to mine. Unable to launder the thing - utterly useless customer service and basically only choice to not do anything thieves guild related with the character while waiting for a fix or kiss the thing goodbye. Not a good situation. So how about some comments form the development side, eh?
