You can be emperor in Alliance War, which does not tie into any Elder Scrolls RPG game... Yet Arch Mage of Mages Guild has been something seen in previous Elder Scrolls game... How come no one can be Arch Mage of Mages Guild??? Why Emperor, but not Arch Mage?

✭✭✭✭✭All of the guilds already have Guildmasters in this time period. There's no vacancies. With regards to Emperor, there's only ever one of those at a time, with the position continually getting supplanted by someone else. It wouldn't make sense for Guildmaster to keep changing like that, as the Guilds are not unstable like Cyrodiil. ✭Players being emperor is not lore, it's a mechanical reward. The only point where you get an emperor is when the imperial city is claimed. At which point the ruler becomes emperor not a lowly fighter0 -

I definitely think so. However, I don't think this should be as Arch-mage.
Player-based councils in some of the Guild Halls is something that I would really enjoy seeing. The first Guild I joined in ESO was based on a splinter group of Magicka users who had organised themselves into an Order. There were some superb Dungeon runs and RP sessions. Sadly it folded when the GM abandoned it. Twice. I'd love to see something similar, that was mechanically supported by ZOS, be introduced.Edited by Iluvrien on June 28, 2017 11:46AM0 -

✭✭✭✭✭My elf is an adventuress, not a parchment palace boss of some guild. I quite disliked in previous games that you were pushed toward replacing the guildmaster when it really makes no sense - unless you expect your character to basically retire and devote all their energy to managing a guild. Not for my little elf. That all said, choices are good. Though my elf does not want to become a guild boss (of any guild), I've no problem if the option/path were there for those who want to do so.
