Have you ever created a discussion on the ESO forums you didn't think through and regret it

    Yes.

I tried suggesting that ZOS could add the option to sell items by auction through guild traders - meaning you simply offer an item for sale without specifying a price and let people offer whatever they think it's worth, then after a set period of time the item is sold to the highest bidder for whatever they offered to pay.

At the time I didn't appreciate how many MMO players associate that word solely with WOW's auction house (I've never played WoW) and seemed totally unable (or unwilling) to understand that the two are not inherently linked and you can have that method of selling an item without also having a game-wide, automated trade system.

Needless to say the topic quickly descended into the usual shouting match and after about 2 pages I gave up trying to explain that they were disagreeing with something I'd never suggested to begin with because I'd have more success shouting at the wall.

On the plus side a few people who did read more than the one word pointed me towards some guilds who organise real-time auctions in-game (unfortunately I can rarely attend, but it's nice to know the option is there) and 3rd party websites which offer this option.

    Only one.

There were a number of threads begging for large sums of coin.

So this one made one also as a joke - it seemed to be an obvious joke to this one who would never ask for coin - only booze.

Khajiit is sure that everyone who saw it must have understood the joke too yes.

However the thread it was removed - strangely the original and very serious ones they remained that day.

In conclusion, if the doubt were ever there, Khajiit she does not want your money (but she will take it perhaps if you leave your pocket open for too long!).

Imo the only reason people usually feel that way is because of the response to threads. Even with the most logical and modest of complaints/requests you always get somebody who pops up in the thread with the exclusive intention of bashing you or making you feel bad.

I regret most topics I try to discuss here because you always get that vile and cruel response instead of a decent adult conversation... really makes you question how many 'adults' are playing this rated M game -_-

That being said I'm also equally guilty of it some cases... it's hard not to sometimes be vile when something seems so dumb in your own mind. I think alot of people go the extra mile though with their swearing and name calling.

Pretty much out of frustration after IC launched when ppl raged at me in Cyro for being a NB. Ended up creating a wall of text trying to prove that NB weren't so bad after all

And yes, I really regret making that one

I regret making threads that expressed any opposition to whats the norm in game. The forum has a tendency to engage bully mode and quickly jump down your throat over it.

I will never actually start a thread unless it's meaningful and related to ESO (storyline, mechanics, balance). Some people like to use the forums as a space for their bad jokes and whining.

Don't let them bother you. If it's a valid and well constructed post, then those who love to white knight ZoS are the ones doing more damage to the game they're playing than you are giving valid criticism. I'd love to see the complete mess and stagnation of the game we'd be playing if some people around here were listened to. Everything is perfect, no need for change. Well, at least until Zos do it, then it becomes the best thing since sliced bread. Every game has those people, so don't let them get to you.

Interesting. I read through the post you quoted several times and could find no mention of him/her stating anything about "White Knights". In fact, you kind of proved his point.

Also very few people judge a thread based on the title, without ever reading the description, then reply like they know everything .

A lot of mature successful adults may have a superiority complex. Like they know whats best, talking down to people who are just as successful as they are.
