Every time someone creates a "Make X Y again" thread ZOS plans or extends a downtime.

Don't use bad campaign slogans people, remember strong and stable posting, don't let the coalition of trolling win.

Good thing these maintenances always happen when I'm at work or sleeping. Unlike some other games I play, that usually do these updates right when I get back home.

I hope FFXIV is good... about 3/4 of the way done with the dl. Won't let this maintenance ruin my evenings from now on

It's okay if you like super linear story lines that are required to experience ANY content including unlocking the ability to use your mounts, required dungeon content, and wow-esque gear treadmills tethered to weekly lockouts.... so basically the completely opposite of ESO.

I understand the game is story driven, I'm not going to stop playing ESO I'm just bored right now LOL.

but seriously, it looks pretty cool.

It's okay. I was just seriously miffed about how the game throttled your progress and locked out basic mechanics till you had done the prerequisite quest. Want to ride a mount? Need to play about 8 hours of the main story and do a low-level raid boss before you are given the privilege of grinding to unlock the ability to even get your mount licence. EVERYTHING is like that.

I probably wouldn't have minded if I liked the story, but it never really hooked me. It was more a barricade that kept me from enjoying the game instead of complimenting it. I only played Heavensward for a few weeks before I gave up for good. Great raids, but everything else was just tedious.

surely it's better than just "hanging out with the kids offering sweeties" while others actually get on with running the patch
