why no account-wide keybindings?

My question stems from recently picking up a controller and turning on gamepad mode, I realized I had to setup everyone's control scheme individually, across 14 characters; it was mind numbing why can't this be account-wide setting? There are addons that allow your settings and changes to be account-wide if you turn it on that way, as in an option that lets you make any changes on one character it will apply to all your characters without having to do it again on each one. Why isn't it a thing to have the base game Keybindings be set as account-wide instead of going to each and every individual character to setup their keybindings if I'm going to make them all the same anyway?

I imagine its low priority and not as simple a job as many think (controls are stored server side). But agreed, it's frustrating.
Not sure if there's something in the API that'd let a modder grab these from one character for later saving to a new character. Have you had a good rummage through add-ons to see if someone tackled it?Currently obsessed with battlegrounds. Spamming here between rounds.
