Think about it: Skyrim + powerful necromancers = dragons reborn.

Or maybe some guy working with dragon bones, trying to clone dragons, to use them as war tools, but it gets out hand, so you must prevent Skyrim from being completely burned down, and Collectors edition could have a dragon mount / pet. Because they're not actual dragons, but just clones, except this one you've managed to keep under control.

Artificial dragons. Got a problem with that, lore-guards?

Didn't we just save skyrim from being burned down by dragons in TES: V? And didn't we also just learn how to keep dragons under control and use them as mounts in TES: V?

Why don't we get something new instead?

We didn't keep them under control, we freed them from Alduin's grasp, if I remember correctly.
And a new area can't go without side-quests, right? A bit of the same story, but different. Someone else can think of an original main quest.

On the question of Summerset vs. Skyrim I'd pick Summerset only because there are places there we've never really visited before in an TES Game. I imagine it would be graphically beautiful and we already get to see a fair chunk of Skyrim. On the matter of Skyrim though I look forward to Solstheim more than Vvardenfell. I fell in love with the island in the Morrowind game.

In all fairness though I do think maybe some other culture like Argonians or Khajiit (those southeast folks) deserves more representation in the game. There's also another interesting option: Daedric realms. We've been to Coldharbor, what about a little jaunt through one of the other planes? Maybe we can get involved in the whole battlespire thingie?

Skyrim is the basis of all things in this game. Without the Skyrim Series, ESO would not exist.

    Floki

Disregarding the fact that this is obviously a troll comment and the fact that Skyrim is not a series but a single TES game, it is unfortunate how many things are in fact based off of Skyrim (and Oblivion, in turn). It fits in with the modern design philosophy of streamlining in order to better suit those too lazy to follow simple directions or to walk somewhere on their own.

Some players do not wish for their hands to be held throughout the game. Some players do not want their intelligence insulted as they are forced into poorly written dialogue responses that make the PC seem like an ignorant S'wit.

    Anyways, just my two drakes.

I am an adult, I want to spend the money I earn on crown crates.

ZOS can comply with Brazil's legislation and still sell crown crates to adults.

Definitely Summerset, but only if they make it the way it was described in the old ESO datamine: with all the varlines powering the island, daedric slaves tending the land, and tribal kinhouses. No clue why they nixed all that for what we got in Auridon.
No one is saying there aren't multiple interpretations of the lore, and we're not arguing that ESO did it "wrong".

We're arguing that they decided to go for the most boring, mundane, seen-before interpretation possible. Like they almost always do, unless they can ride on the coat-tails of past games.

I vote to ban everything related to Skyrim in ESO. Maybe then the kiddies will finally go away.

    Sigh.

    Man that's so wrong

I hate kiddies. Kiddies, generally, came into ES with Skyrim. Kiddies do really dumb, annoying things and are generally unpleasant to be around in-game.

If banning Skyrim discourages kiddies from playing the game, that is a sacrifice I am willing to make.

Oh, and get off my lawn.

    @Inhuman003

Actually, I came into ES as a "kiddie", so even though I'm also sick of Skyrim and hope to see more of Summerset, I find your reasoning to be...well...childish.

I have always wanted to go visit Summerset Isles but actually, I would like to visit sometime later. I want to know what happens to Ayrenn because the Dominion fails and then is reconstituted as the Thalmor we loathed in Skyrim. I like the Altmer and want to know what happened to them.

I don't like deserts though so I'm not really keen on Elsweyr. I would like to see the fall of Winterhold but not in the snow. I am sick to death of snow.

Tho i doubt it. Would be difficult for the designers to do Summerset justice. Seems to be a world apart. Plus, sometimes it feels as if the Altmer only get cast (and being preceived) as the bad guys, and the punching bag to make some glorified truck driver look more impressive.

This is exactly how it feels. I'm fine with them portraying us as arrogant ***, but it seems ESO has done everything in its power to make it clear our arrogance isn't earned. Khajiit cities are beautiful and opulent while ours are gray stone hovels. Our clothing looks like it was stitched together by sweat-shop children. I honestly think Zenimax actually hates the altmer as a race and wishes they didn't have to include them at all.

    @Gedalya

I agree with you 100%. Something about Auridon I love. The cherry trees, the architecture of the housing and so on. It's why I bought Mathiison Manor. It had it all in one tiny space. The weather too.

Skyrim the game is garbage bro.

It had a dumbed down system compared to Morrowind and Oblivion, so I didn't like it. The map was also tiny.

The region, however, is great it seems to be represented better in ES 5 than the zones in ESO. Zones in this game are nice but lack the intensity that ES 5 brought.

Personally would like to see Summerset before we make the trip back to Skyrim, though I do hope to see Skyrim implemented fairly soon.

Skyrim is the least interesting possibility as most of us have already been there.

Summerset Isles is at least a new place to explore but I, as always, want a new pocket plane like Clockwork City apparently will be or Oblivion, or preferably something on the other side of the world, such as a zone of one of the races of Akavir. Barring that, at least something totally unknown like Khajiit or Argonian lands. There's a lot of space in the southwest of Tamriel.

The main reason this would be awesome is that it'd let ZOS flex it's creative muscle and ignore well-known zones - which is something they probably just learned from Vvardenfell, with all the crybabies who complained it's not the same as it will be 800 years in the future (and who don't seem to understand ESO is in the distant past compared to other TES games).

Let ZOS start some lore and critters and history from scratch. Guaranteed fun for all.

P.S. nice to see Minotaurs being used a bit more in their next DLCs. Wish I knew what the lore is behind them.

Do you think Akavir or something else on the other side of the map would be a last resort expansion if everything goes bad in five years for ESO?

I'd be most excited about Summerset Isles - but I voted Skyrim.

I want to see Skyrim first for two reasons:

    1) I love to see the map getting filled in - and I want to see the top of it completely filled. I think it's unlikely we'll actually get all of skyrim as a single expansion - as it's much larger that Vvardenfell. Perhaps it would be the reach and hjaalmarch, and then the other areas would be individual updates.

    2) The summerset isles should be beautiful, and I want a lot of time spent on it, and if there are any major changes to ESO in the next couple of years, I'd like to see them done before the introduction of Summerset Isles. I'm not explaining very well, but it makes sense in my head. Also, It would be cool if speelcrafting came with Summerset Isles, and I don't see that coming out anytime soon.

As I've said countless times, if Zos knows what's good for themselves, they won't bring it in. It'll be exploited and bugged so much that they'll kill PvP and possibly even high end PvE.

All of the races broadcast their superiority to all others in some form which makes them all racists and I find the Khajit are more superior in their attitudes than any elf (though not as bad as the Nords). The thing about the Khajit is that they are so charming that you just don't mind as much when you get put down for not having fur. Thus, there is no room for anyone to get all uppity about racist attitudes. We all have our favorites and opinions. Vivé la difference!
