Shieldbreaker - Should it deal oblivion damage, or grant a % damage boost against damage shields?

Rather than being a shield bypass (with oblivion damage), should it actually function as the name suggests, and augment damage dealt to enemies with a damage shield? In essence it would be the set counterpart of the shattering blows CP star. Though the actual damage increase could either be a % increase or a flat damage bonus.

✭Nope. But I can elaborate. Dealing increased % damage would totally break target with low shields, for examples those who get a friendly Dk shield.
Buuut… the idea is excellent if it was changed a bit. Add a new type of damage : shield damage, who only apply on shields. Give shieldbreaker a huge value of this shield damage (perhaps even enough to destroy a blazplar's shield) and make it apply to every direct hit (not only LA/HA attack). Now, you have a real "shieldbreaker" set. And no broken damage.
Even more, it may open some ideas in pve, when shields are sometimes too useful to the point that stamina players don't have any place.3 -

That's not a bad idea, being the shield counterpart of oblivion damage (which is hp 'true' damage), hell this could even be augmented to apply to some status effects (looking at the concussed/lightning damage in particular). Could have bosses that emit a shockwave that absolutely wrecks all kinds of shields (+ deals damage)1 -

It was introduced in 1.7 as an answer to the god sorcs on 1.6 which they actually nerfed in 1.7....

✭✭I think it should grant bypass Oblivion damage the way it already does, but not on every tick of lightning staff. This does not seem like it was intended to work this way, especially considering this is a stamina set.

Projectiles (so dodgeable for stam builds) would be better ^^
Some anti-magicka attack (avoidable but anti-shield), and some anti-stamina one (shieldable aoe, as we already have a lot).0 -

Yet shields were nerfed from 1.6 to 1.7
Shields used to be 20% reduced in pvp that went to 50%.PS4 EU DC
