Should have read other discussions about this, this seasons seems to be the scummiest one yet with how weighted trash seems to be compared to last and duplicates agalor. The complaints are about how this season compared to the last 2. Idk why people cant seem to understand thats what people are posting about.

Not to give the Dev's any ideas, but in some other games with chance boxes, you can loot them in the main world, so the game shoves them in your face, saying "oh! Look what you got, lucky you! But wait, you can only open it with real money!"

As bad as gamble crates are, at least eso doesn't have THAT method...

Damn elven hero costume sucked me in. Never bought crown crates. I got extremely lucky imo and will probably not buy again , all crowns bought 1/2 off .

    1st round of 15 - just like 80 gems & junk
    2nd round of 15 - ebon senche ! Like 100 more gems
    3rd round of 15 - dwarven wolf ! Like 300 more gems.

All told got 4 mounts / 2 cool ones .
    3 legendary motifs
    2 legendary clavicus banners
480 gems total plenty to buy my elven hero motif.

Crates are best suited for players aren't looking for any particular reward, so anything decent makes them happy. Otherwise just stay away from them.

So you spent a ton of money on unregulated gambling where the immoral gambling house doesn't even publish the odds of winning, and you are unsatisfied with the results?

    Color me all the surprised.

Even vegas casinos have to tell you the odds of winning and publish their RNG methods to the nevada gaming commission including actual payout percentage.

ZOS doesn't because the entire gaming industry is completely unregulated and they can be as immoral as they want. At least 90% of the community was against bringing unregulated gambling into this game but that didn't matter.

But there is a solution. Don't do it. I have yet to open 1 gamble crate. Its easy. Just resist.

I have to admit.. I am curious. Did you open the free one you got with Morrowind?

Your question assumes I even purchased Moronwind. If you want to know why I didn't, the answer is in my signature.

Do this guy also go to casino's and get mad when he loses all his money? What a ridiculous thread.

Zeni would be in trouble with the feds if it were considered online casino. The digital currency aspect of the transaction nearly negates the fact that, using them on random crates is gambling.

I am not saying my solution is the best for everyone, this one is deeply personal, but I have determined that ZOS is slowly decreasing the value and quality of their offerings while increasing the cost. As with any other product or service I buy, from a pack of gum to a new car, I monitor value vs cost, and try to determine if addiction is the only real reason I still do something.

I have determined that as addicted as I am to this game, ESO+ does not offer enough value for me to remain subscribed at this time. If this changes, I will happily re-subscribe. I am not quitting, I am just not spending any more of my money on this game until something of value comes along.

I also disagree with ZOS's actions recently on moral grounds it is hard for me to continue to support even a product I love as much as the Elder Scrolls Franchise when I find a companies moral actions reprehensible. Gambling Addiction and Video Game Addiction is real. As with any other addictive thing (from skooma to gambling), I feel it should be legal but highly regulated and the RISKS SHOULD BE KNOWN. ZOS doesn't publish the risks and that I find to be morally reprehensible.

I agree, the value has sharply fallen. My reasons for cancelling is based more on the companies more recent decisions. If a company acted like this that I had stocks in, I would have sold.

Then you would have lost a lot of money. Zenimax Media isn't a publicly traded company but by the way they are gobbling up small studios (like Bethesda, id, and Arcane), exploiting the valuable IP of those studios for max profit, and suing everyone, they are in the position to make tons of money for their private stakeholders. That seems to be their only concern at the moment.

But then again, money isn't everything and Ethical Investing is a thing. Ethical Funds don't include certain "sin industries" that probably cannot be mentioned on these forums. They probably shouldn't include video games either as many of the large Media Conglomerates that own most video game IPs have ceased to be ethical.

You intentionally gambled, you lost. Get over it, dont buy more, STOP BEING STUPID.

got to agree on this one. as much as you'd want to blame ZoS, you couldn't. I've stopped buying crates, they are not worth it. if a lot of people stop buying them, maybe ZoS will stop this ridiculousness. but people support it, so... well... guess people in this game want to waste their hard earn money... meh.

And there goes some more exaggeration.

They really are not even figuratively thieves. Each crate costs 400 is it? (Singularly) the items you get are guaranteed to be worth more than that, which they are. Maybe they just are not useful to you. You really can't even say thieves literally here.

It's like me saying omg ZOS you are thieves because you stole my time in vma because I got a defending sword. I got what I was promised, a chance at getting a maelstrom weapon. Not what I wanted, yes I'm annoyed but ZOS are not thieves.

Just because you didn't get what you wanted does not mean you have to go calling ZOS names.

Actually that's not true. With this drop people are getting less than before. Basically the only thing in the crates at this point is Nix-Hound.

    Fixed for you. :-p

I opened four crates, got three nix hounds. Also got two gold cards (both of the rare Dwarven Mitters) and I think a sixth card, one of the new blue tier hats. But, yeah, three hounds.

Actually gamblers get mad all the time - that's why they usually have big goombas in the back room and patrolling about the place so they can rough you up and toss you into the back alley.

I've been playing ESO about three months and got sucked in on those last series of Crown crates hoping to land some Green Glowing items....got a couple of costumes, a few pets and lots of un-needed stuff. For the cost for what you might get along with the odds...not doing it again. For 1500 Crowns it should be closer to 1000-1200 tops and they would not only make money but probably more would buy. Like everything else it's cost per value and the value based on cost for the Crates is not worth it...
