100-150 ping really isn't that bad for MMOs 0_o

I had to play with 700+ all the time before I started using different internet for gaming.

I got the same prob, 100 I wush , 120 is a good day , 140 in the norm . it sucks , I'm west coast so maybe thats why ?
I don't give free items because it's a just game. Play the game.
I give free items because it's just a game. Play the game.
I understand both. I am the contradiction.

Difficult to answer these sorts of questions without having a clue which platform and server you're on, where in the game you're having performance issues, and where in the world you're playing from, as well as your system specs including internet connection and whether it is cabled or wireless.

100-150 is perfectly normal for ESO. For whatever reason, its ping is a lot higher than other MMOs.

My latency in WoW and SWTOR are between 10 and 20 ms, but in ESO it's between 80-120. Around 100ms is the lowest latency I've EVER seen anyone cite for ESO.

If you're used to 20ms in WoW, it seems high, but it's standard for this particular game.

^^^What they said. I'm usually around 800-999+ since last big patch. Which is why I don't PvP anymore. For the most part I'm getting used to it by hopefully predicting in time when to dodge roll and when I have to break free. Other than that I'm still able to do trials and what not.

I can get pings as low as 25 in Germany from UK. In Battlefield 1 I can easily play on any server in EU without any issues. ESO just got really bad, it was not that bad, it just degraded slowly. Long, long time ago I had 50-60ms, now its 100 on average jumping to 180, sometimes with 95% packet loss to make things exciting. World of Tanks ping 23 and 31ms on EU servers. European battle.net 18ms, EVE online 16ms. No packet loss in any of these games!!! ESO- massive pile of stutter.

The main issue is that the lag decreased my DPS a lot when it went up from 50-60 to 100+, the game just does not take in the information fast enough because of *** delay. I played stam sorc since 2014, it's not like I suddenly got slow. It is unplayable now, at least for me. My build is all about speed and it is just not fun anymore.

They should use Morrowind rip off money to invest in the infrastructure, but I am sure that this will not happen, they will just pile up the code and see how much they can squeeze it to make more profit. I stopped paying for this product, their practices are not customer friendly. This reminds me how economies imploded in 2008, it looks like they will "flog it until it's dead"...

It is round-trips latency, so divide by two.

Even if that's the case, still much higher than average :| I'm in that 100ms-200ms range also, West coast

100-200ms is not much higher than average. It's average.

This is the problem. It is 100-200, but it was not.
Once you know how it feels at 50-60ms taking it away is a finisher.
Yes, everyone is limited to the same garbage latency, but there is nothing left, nothing to learn, no room for improvement, we are limited by the server not by our lack of ability. If it would be always slow, fine, but it was not.

If you get used to racing a 1000cc motorcycle and one day someone gives you 2x slower crap, all that ability of taming 1000cc beast is lost, you are trapped not using your full potential and you know it, because you experienced and got used to much faster bike. Degradation like this is a killer.

I stopped paying, too many things went from acceptable to not acceptable. There is no other way to get the message across to ZOS, they only understand money messages. I had to stop paying, Morrowind was a ripoff. They do not talk about higher ping because they know exactly what is happening and why it is happening.

You can't complain about a 100-150 ping when those of us in Australia/Oceania are lucky if we get below 250-300 as our standard.

    I'd take 100-150 in a heartbeat.

It is not about the value itself. It is about the direction it is heading in.

What would you say if your ping would double now?
Because that is what has happened in April, and it is not our internet it is ZOS side. No other games have this issue, nothing changed for me in BF1, World of Tanks, EVE Online, Playerunknown's Battlegrounds. It is just ESO that got worse.

The game should improve with time, it got worse instead...

Ditto from Southern Africa... but I agree with the post above mine, it has been steadily getting worse over the last 3-4 weeks.

I really don't think the OP was posting his numbers to compare with other people but to point out that it's been getting worse for him. So, posts of "well, I live on the far side of the Moon, and my ping is 832983439, so stop complaining" is really not helpful. It has been getting worse. I almost never lost connection because of ping, but it's been happening more and more these days. My numbers used to be in the tens; they're starting to normalize in the hundreds. That should be a concern to everyone, as I'm sure it's not just me (or the OP) that is starting to see such numbers.
    Clueless, but willing to learn.

The new issue for me seems to be the increase across all parts of the game. Since release my pin has always been in the 80-120ms range across all zones. yes i would get the lag spikes that happen and of course in Cyrodiil it would be higher depending on the the time of day and number of people in the bigger fights.

For about 2 weeks now my ping ranges from 210-240 in all PvE zones, 300-320 in Cyrodiil (Vivec NA PC) and spikes are far more frequent in all zones in all times of the day

    My pings:

    ESO 120-150
    WoW 120ish
    EVE 140's
    GW2 120-150
    Old AA account 200ish
    Old black desert account 100-150

And i play well in all of them. Seems normal. I have however experiened above average spikes over the last few weeks and I will add though that some addon can seriously screw with you latency, test them indpendently.

150 is fine. You won't notice a delay until after 200+. But if you really want to decrease your ping move closer to the servers. Only solution. Anything is a gimmick.

I hope ZOS read this bc lag kills, and more/better servers can reduce lag/ping. Yeah they cost more, but that's what we are paying for (Morrowind & ESO+ mem here). This is not some bargain-basement FTP, but if they continue this path direction it will be. I too have noticed large lag spikes particularly around peak usage times, and especially since Morrowind. No, the game doesn't feel 1/2 as responsive as it did at ESO launch. Do something about it plz ZOS.

You make an important point. In addition to the details I mentioned in post #5 above, people really need to confirm whether they are using addons, and if so specify which ones and when they were last updated.
