An idea for proc sets.

WilliamofSomeRenown
Ok so I think all pvp players can agree that free damage proc sets (Viper, Velidreth, Skoria, etc.) do far to much damage in pvp. I realize that pve players agree that cutting proc set damage would make veteran endgame content much harder if not impossible. I think I have an idea that might help with balancing both pve and pvp.

What I propose is a large nerf to free damage proc sets damage (50% appox.). BUT at the same time, A buff to spell/weapon damage proc/buff sets (Scathing Mage, Burning Spellweave, Automaton, etc.). I believe that by balancing a decent buff to overall damage while at the same time cutting proc set damage significantly we would see less players in pvp wearing all procs sets that can potentially one shot people and more balanced builds using minimal proc set usage. In addition, we would see comparable numbers to what we are seeing now in pve.

This is just a theory. I do not know if it would work in practice but I wanted to share and get feedback from some other people to figure out if I'm crazy. haha

You're definitely not crazy! I think a lot of people (including myself) would welcome a change to free damage proc sets. When half the people you fight against look like they are running the same proc builds it quickly gets old lol. Bring back more build diversity, skill and counter play.

People complete end game PvE after becoming good and joining organized guilds.
That's how it should be done. Not by passive armor damage output.

Procs hurt the game, not just PvP.
People that support proc for PvE are those that cannot find the easy mode setting on MMORPGS
People that support procs in PvP are AP farmers that would choose the strongest meta to achieve victory, driving the whole game to very limited options for competitive PvP which ruins stategical thinking, reactive combat and personal style of combat.

    They need to be removed

Proc sets just need to NOT STACK. Getting high with a light attack, Dizzying Swing, Selene's, and Vipers can easily one-shot people.

In addition proc sets damage the unique identity if Class skills and Weapon Skills (and even guild skills) that include delayed damage and contribute to builds which strategically incorporate them to a players build.
Proc gear sets do that because they are SO MUCH MORE EASIER to fire damage passively PLUS their damage is far greater than skills that deal passive damage.

I like how all the sorcs changed the focus on the forum. Sorcs is still the most OP class in pve and pvp with insane damage hiding behind shields and doing it all from range. yes multiple proccs hurt but if u die from a 1v1 encounter from a proccuser then u need to L2P.

I play stamDK and I'm saying procs are bad.

As for Barriers and out healing dps well... Zos shouldn't have made it so easy to negate incoming damage.
Heals and barriers should have a very sort casting time.

That idea would kill my magdk tank build I use for solo farming dungeons.

I have an idea. Why not just remove proc damage sets altogether? Would resolve a lot of balance issues in PvP especially no-CP! :D
