✭✭✭✭✭But back then you could only have 60 points total in the horse (not max out all 3 stats, and each stat was limited to 50) and you had to stable the horse before you could use it on a different character.... AND you had to do it for every horse you owned.
I'd stop buying crown store mounts if they did that.
You could not share horses with other characters. It was still per character and each horse had it's own upgrade. Basically someone could do one for speed and another for bag space, but only one active at a time. Had to empty the bag space to change to the speed horse.0 -

That's not a benefit, quite the opposite...
So, why would they do it???
Be realistic...
For us players, the choice is either be patient, or spend money on "convenience" crown store stuff. And that is not bloody likely to change.
The one thing -I- would want to see in that regard is riding training stacking like enlightment, for those poor souls who can only play on the weekends due to work... so they can get a mount maxed in half a year as well instead of taking seven times as long...

I don't mind the expense but at least if we've unlocked on one char allow us to just spend the gold in 1 big lump sum rather than per day.
This would solve the issue for me. I'd gladly pay (gold) for the upgrades, but don't make me *wait* half a year for each new toon I want to play around with. I haven't bothered seeing if I even like the idea of a StamSorc because I don't want to wait so long to make the character less-than-painful going from A to B.1 -

No they really wouldn't "have" to refund anything. We invested at the time and an MMO is always changing. They can make the change if they really wanted too without having to refund anything. Look back at WoW when they changed the cost of mounts in Vanilla and lowered it drastically (either for TBC or just before, I forget now) but they never returned anyones gold and I'm pretty sure nobody cared either.
The self-entitlement today is ridiculous! If they made this change I don't care about getting any gold back, I'll just be happy they finally made horse upgrades account-wide. I don't care though if they do or not. I've got a couple chars with the mount upgrades, sure it sucks going through it but games are meant to earn progress, not this instant gratification everyone wants and demands.Edited by BloodWolfe on June 21, 2017 12:52PM0 -

Tubben✭✭✭Well, they do make to much money with riding lessons in the crown store. This would be an severe hit.
BUT they could make it so, that you can buy accountwide Riding Lessons for like 3000 Crowns per 10 Points. So it would be cheaper for 4+ Chars. This way you could choose to do it per char in 180 days, or if you pay RL Money for accountwide unlocks.
The better way would be the FF14 way, so that you could unlock every class skill with one one char, so that you only have to Play one char instead for one char for every class.
Since leveling to 50/160 feels meaningless since T-One.
But thats a complete different Story.

They don't make you spend crowns on anything.
Leveling horseriding is not a big deal. If you are using your character, just level when you are in town. If you are not, park it at a stable for daily log-ins.
You can just plan your alts out right now and train them daily. I have 8 max horseriding characters and 2 wardens at about 20 speed. Sometimes you just have to deal with a slow horse or less storage. That is life.
If it is painful, that is mostly on you for allowing yourself to get worked up about something so minor. It is one thing to get riled up about broken queues and questionable grouping mechanics. But getting frustrated over the little effort involved in this? Painful to log spend one minute to log in to character to level horse? That's a bit melodramatic. To be fair, you don't necessarily need all 3 lines leveled up. If you do a lot of PVP then speed is a real bonus and you don't really need bag space, if you do PVE, then bag space is a priority and riding speed is not essential. Horse stamina is always lowest priority on my books.
I have leveled 8 characters up in all riding skills without using the Crown store and am still going on another 3 newer characters. I'll just keep plugging away.....
@disintegr8 In pvp stamina is super important or you get shot off your horse in a hard stun and are usually dead before you get out of it. I would almost argue stam > speed in pvp, but who wants a slow horse you can't get knocked off. So speed it is, but without max stam you're done for in pvp, lol.0 -

I agree that stamina is good to have in PVP but my characters do PVP and PVE - so it has to be the lowest priority for me.Australian on PS4 NA server.
