Battlegrounds... Poisons, Viper, and Tremorscale...

Everywhere. Literally everywhere. Another great piece of content completely ruined from proc sets and resource poisons. I've played so far 15 matches of battlegrounds. Every single 1 was filled with someone running the previously mentioned. Whether it was on my team or the enemy team. And that is horrible.

Tremorscale is the worst set in this game and I really wish it was tone downed or only accessible to PvE.

I kinda like red mountain and viper. So then I can slack off on the monster set and run sellistrix. That extra random knock down is just to funny to pass up.... oh ***, I just noticed. I might be part of the problem...

Yeah. Balancing new skills and sets has never been this game's strong suit.

It also doesn't help that you have premade teams against solo que players. And lord knows I pray that ESO does not follow suit of Overwatch in having premades against solo que players. That's 1 of the reasons why Overwatch gets such horrible reviews nowadays, and why so many people are quitting and have quit that garbage (myself included). My most recent match of securing the flag had a 4 stack against all of us being solo que players, with me being the only 630 on the team. My teammates? CP330, CP400, Lv.22. Lol. The team that stomped us and was in the 4 stack? All CP630 in proc-set gear. Lmao. The Sorc on my team (CP330) was magicka based wearing that Senche set or whatever it's called. :D

@MaxwellC I agree. It was cute and slightly funny at first. And now it's beyond annoying and obnoxious. Especially in an environment where you don't have champion points to assist in breaking free and dodge rolling.

I played a match earlier against a StamDK running: Red Mountain, Viper, and Tremorscale. With resource poisons on his back bar (bow). What made it worse? It was the increase stamina and magicka cost poison. That match was easily my worst experience involving PvP in ESO by far. Thankfully I haven't experienced it again, but it definitely made me stop playing for an hour so after I encountered it.

Another day, another death recap filled with Viper, Viper, poison, poison, ability.

It's gotten to the point where I've challenged myself to see if I can manage to get a death recap that is ALL proc damage. Wish me luck.

For what is worth, mag templars for example still are a very dominant class and wores nothing of what you mention. Oh, and poisons. If you look closely you'll notice they are not that common whatsover.

Come on Champ, your threads are better than this.

...? What? I've barely encountered any MagPlars in battlegrounds. I maybe encountered a MagPlar once out every 5 or so games. Most of games are filled with DK's, Sorcs, and NB's. And even then, when there are MagPlars? They are healers. As for poisons, they are very much so common in battlegrounds. Very, very, very, much so common. From how you're talking, I wish I had the type of games you're having. Where there are a MagPlars all about and little to no cheese builds present.

I've played about 50 Battleground matches and there was only 1 in which there was a magplar played a key role: it was just a healbot.

Sorcs, Viper, Red Mountain, Oblivion damage, and troll tanks that grab flags. It's a buggy imbalanced mess that actually makes Cyrodiil appealing.

@Joy_Division That's exactly what I'm saying! An easy agree from me to you. Where is this gentleman finding matches where there are MagPlars everywhere? Last 2 matches I've had recently (as in a few minutes ago) were literally: Sorcs, NB's, and DK's. 2 for 2. In fact, I encounter Wardens more than Templars in battlegrounds it seems. And when I did encounter a Templar? They're a MagPlar healer. Lol.

By the way, have you encountered the StamSorcs that run like the wind and can seemingly carry the flag from across the map to their base in seconds? It's almost as though some of these guys are wearing those sets that give the 5pcs. bonus to base movement speed. It's crazy how fast I've seen some players run.

Well, Braidas and Manokin played a lot when Morrowind dropped and they are really good magplars so maybe just bumped into them a few times. Granted it can be hard to know what you're actually fighting, especially when it's mostly gear on my death recaps.

I met quite a few flag runners. Though I don't think you need a twinked out build. My sorc does just fine with an immovable-speed pots and shield stacking since the distance is so short and there isn't any mechanics involved. It's been about 15 years since I've played shooter Capture the flag games and the thing that made those matches fun was that it generally took team coordination and skill to cap a flag. I dunno how MMOs normally do these types of matches but what ESO did seems off.

Sooooo pretty much the only way you've found fun in the new Battlegrounds content is by cheesing, all because that's what other people are doing? Wow. That says an awful about you as a player. Granted there's somewhat no avoiding usage of a proc set (Engine Guardian for example), but damn. In other to keep up, you feel as though you have to cheese to win.

I hope this is an eye-opener to you all at ZOS HQ, at how your content has evolved in such a short timespan. And how players view things in order for them to find "fun" and success. @ZOS_RichLambert @ZOS_Finn @Wrobel

It's pretty obnoxious in Battlegrounds having to deal with the proc sets. I'm not even 50 matches in, and already it's starting to annoy me from unbalanced and uneven teams, to the proc sets and CC's dominating due to the no-CP environment. And I refuse to allow ESO to truly get under my skin again. So I might just have to leave Battlegrounds alone, until ZOS steps up to the plate and makes some pretty extreme changes. Because as is, Battlegrounds is a huge failure thus far.

I don't even see these MagPlars. And when I do, they're just healers. Where are you guys finding these abundant MagPlars? I'd rather deal with MagPlars and the whole Blazing Shield nonsense or whatever niche build they're running, than sit and deal with my recaps for the most part having: Red Mountain, Viper, Tremorscale, Selene, ____ Poison, Incapacitating Strike, and Hurricane.

Proc sets and resource poisons are not ruining the game, they are a part of the game. Just like you are. I for one would like to know what sets and/or skills you are using @Ch4mpTW so I or anyone else for that matter could offer you some advice how to counter some of the difficulties you are experiencing in defeating your opponents.

Simply blaming a proc set because it is an effective set is just plain wrong.

I agree I play a mdk in battlegrounds solo que and getting matched up against a pre made group of proc set users is just not fun.

Last time this happen I was in a game of deathmatch and as soon as I saw the 4 person team we where against(all 630 procblades) I told my team to just stay up and make them bored as hell. The other team did the same thing and yes we waisted 15 min of our day but was funny as hell to see these guys trying so hard to get there kills when we would not jump down.

ZoS needs to know BGs are really fun but the way they allowed proc sets and low lvl noobs to que together is making it die fast.

I suggest and a lot of people I know skillful players say

    1. All crafted sets only or...
    2. Only BG gear you can buy from a vendor
    3. NO DAMN POSIONS
    4. Ranking system that puts you with similar skill lvl player like pvp rank or scores within bgs

Blaming a proc set because it is an effective set? Okay, let's pause for a moment. This is content that is in an environment where there is NO CHAMPION POINTS allowed. M'kay? Now that we have established that, how does 1 deal with getting: Tremorscale'd, Viper'd, and Red Mountain'd all at once? All the while you're taking passive damage from: Hurricane, a bleed perhaps, a poison, and or Poison Injection? Did I mention that while all this is going on, they are weaving and or animation cancelling attacks against you? And that's just 1 person. Usually you have more than 1 person beating on you with that type of damage just being applied to you. There is no other thing to blame. And that's the truth.

Proc sets do NOT belong in an environment like Battlegrounds. Not at all. As is CC and stamina build rein supreme, as they are naturally effective in a no-CP environment. And have a bit of an advantage. Now factor in all the things mentioned above with resource cost poisons and other poisons all having a go against you. Please tell me how none of that is to for a player then having an abysmal experience from the things mentioned previously?
