Mounted Casting

Currently the only ability that we can cast while mounted is the alliance war skill 'Rapid Maneuver' and its morphs. I would love if other buffs/heals/shields could be given the same treatment.

I don't see how casting defensive skills would have any negative effects on gameplay. You still wouldn't be able to tank damage while mounted, because you will be dismounted and stunned when you run out of stamina. AOE defenses like Lightning form and Sun Shield don't really deal enough damage to be effective while mounted. PVE enemy skipping might be a bit easier, but it's already extremely easy, and you can already dismount, cast abilities, and then mount again.

Am I missing something game breaking? Am I the only one who wants this changed?

    Its PvP related. Imagine for a second. a raid of people with maxxed stam and speed mounts able to ride in full speed through a breach in a keep wall and not able to be dismounted(since they messed up anti-cavalry caltrops last patch) because they would be healed enough to stay above the threshold needed for dismounting with 60 stam on their horse.

    Healing does not give back stamina to your mount. You only need to bring a mounts stamina down to 0 in order to dismount the rider. It's similar to how blocking costs stamina, except people on mounts get hit for both their health and their mounts stamina, and when your mount runs out of stamina you get thrown to the ground and stunned for a few seconds regardless of how much health you still have.

    If healing helped you stay on your mount we would already see the scenario you describe, but with a player on foot healing the riders from range. But that's not how the mechanics work.

    Your horse isn't going to run out stamina charging a breach. You can be knocked off regardless of steam if health is low enough...hence, no healing.

    No, you can not be knocked off your mount unless you run out of mount stamina. If you sustain enough damage to your health both you and your mount will simply fall over dead. I just tested this again to verify the game mechanic was not changed and it works exactly how I've outlined.

    If you want to test it yourself, mount up, jump off a high ledge to sustain some fall damage, then let some NPCs attack you, assuming you have upgraded your mounts stamina you will die while still sitting on your mount.

    If you're going to dispute my claims again, then its on you to prove it.
