Magicka Warden PvE DPS - Any luck making them viable yet?

Just wondering what other people's experiences have been like for Magicka Warden DPS so far.

It's an awesome class, but so far it is struggling quite a lot to resemble even the lowest end DPS my Magicka Sorcerer can put out without a pet.

Notes:
• Winter's Revenge has 10% less critical chance than it's supposed to..... and it deals a lot less damage per tick than Liquid Lightning does.
• Swarm and its morphs count as Direct Damage, which is bound to lose between 0-20% total damage based on your investment into Master At Arms, since you must invest 75 CPs into Thaumaturge regardless.

Yeah not quite feeling it either. It's fun class to play, but the DPS is just not there. That's the main reason why my fairy is shelved for now. (I call him a fairy, cause even Tinkerbell packs more punch than he does, though he has her beat when it comes to visuals. All those mushrooms, flowers and sparkling birds would have Peter Pan jumping for joy)

I love my wardens, one magika DPS, one Healer, i've been playing my dps for a few days, well, since i started it 8 days ago, all leveled mostly, just missing a point in both Undaunteds passives. Ever since i started playing it, i'm doign test, trying to get the best out of it, lots of CPS moving around, gear tests etc.. i was trying to match so much my Sorc DPS, so much, each time i got a betetr setup i was closing in to it... i haven't much played my sorc since the early-acess came out, since i'm mostly on my wardens... i made my sorc setp fast when early-acess came out, same CP distribution, or close to it with the few changes it got... i lost a few K's per second with the patch changes...

i then decided to do a test with my sorc on my dummy.. i was « oh, really, no way » Well guess what, i'll have to play around with my sorc now, cuz i now deal more dmg on my warden then my sorc, single and aoe, before, with my sorc, my friend's NB was outdamaging my sorc on thrash, a good amount,. i then stand clsoe to it or even a bit more with my Warden. I use the bear, as people say, bear is useless, yeah good in single target, but not usefull on thrash, aggreed. but i then realised, as AoE i do more dmg than i ever was on my Sorc back then... since lots of the warden's are aoe or kinda aoe, i then decided to take out Shooting star or any aoe ultimate and use the bear, i still do a lot of aoe dmg, but now raised a bit my single aoe...

but i got to admit, keeping up the pace on a Warden is way much more complicated than a sorc, a sorc, with only curse, pulse and spellweaving waiting for crystal frag to proc you do most of the dmg.. the warden is a bit more complicated like the NB...

In other words, i can deal about 24-27k DPS single, that is, no elemental drain, no other ones buffs, no spell power pots, all my on stuff, and no ultimate, i mena by that, when i test on dummy, i don't use my bears ultimate, i try to use only my skills, so in situation like trials with all the buffs, i'd be curious to see... as in dungeons, you get most one mans army, everyone trying to heal, dps and stuff, but not much group buffs... so it ain't that bad since wiht my sorc pre-patch, i was dealing 31k, same stuff, no SP pots, no ultimates at all, no Elemental drain or any other peoples buff besides Sorcs buff and skills, but again, we know Sorc are the top dps class already.

I'm really happy, since i'm doing way much more on him than my NB pre-patch... all i need now is put my hands on Moondacers and actualy maybe one day, try to learn vMA for the staffs, but not gonna happen for vMA

Maybe not the best class DPS, but definetely not the worste as much people say, and that is, i' not an elite player, just a bit more than casual.

Yeah, definitely don't feel that the warden is a dps class. They have a lot of neat utility skills for tanking or healing. But nothing really stands out in terms of dps.

Someone posted a thread last night boasting 25k-35k dps on an Ice Staff Mag Warden. From what they posted about their build, I highly doubt that the build could sustain above 20k

I did 32k dps.

I run
5 necro
3 infallible
2 skoria
Vma inferno staff and regular inferno staff.

Im guessing it is your rotation since you have not mentioned the best aoe in game?

Deep fissure or whatever its called does 25k on crit for me AOE damage plus its every 3 seconds.

What i do is put down wall elements then frost aoe thing then deep fisure then spam impulse on trash mobs.

Boss fights i throw wall of element then frost aoe thing then destructive clench then the insect swarm dot then spam weaves and cliff racer.

Always have all aoes and dots up at all times then spam weaves and cliff racer.

I also use ult that gives the max 8% magicka on both bars. Current magicka without undaunted is 46k.

I wouldnt be mad if they give warden a lil dps buff

You can do DPS on a Warden, but you have to get past the idea your going to do a ton of DPS. What you will do is survive as you whittle down the mobs or boss.

I would be curious, without vMA how does it look? cuz it's tough to gauge when all dps test includes vMA which of course boost dmg quite a whille....

BTW, you'Re using pulse, humm since i started using pulse i switched skoria for illambris, beats skoria quite a lot since pulse has 2 chances to proc illambris versus not using pulse, i'm trying to get my hands on Nerieneth'S heavy divine helmet for a second test, with a crap trait it already beats skoria, but not illambris yet. Also what does your 32k includes, in dungoen, on dummy, utltimate used etc... i'm trying to gauge how i'm doing with it

As for my gear:

2x Illambris
5x Necropotence (4 armor pieces and both staves)
4x IA (3 blue jewls + 1 legendary pants)
