Can someone tell me what this 'Transmog' is?
It’s a system where you can take your favorite armor attributes and apply it on the visual appearance of the armor that you want to wear.
Cant find the part where they confirm the transmog-stuff comming. I did read the whole interview tho, and there isnt anything about it in there at all. Not sure where you got it from...
Do you have plans for a transmogrification system?
There are, we’ve talked about that publicly.../...
We have talked about working on such a system and we are; we don’t know when it’s going to launch. It is pretty technically complex. We’re committed to doing it but we don’t know exactly in which update it will be.

Transmogrification system : not sure if the word is actually in any dictionary, or if it is just gamers' slang. Anyway, it's supposed to mean the ability to CHANGE the appearance (skin) of a piece of gear or equipment to any style available in the game, to each individual's liking. For instance, if you like skinchanger style but must wear a dropped set that comes in Ra-Gada style, you can change those parts to skinchanger style without affecting the stats or set properties of the gear.
In Matt Firor's words :It’s a system where you can take your favorite armor attributes and apply it on the visual appearance of the armor that you want to wear.
So they've gone back to the 1980s then.lordrichter wrote: »The developers that want to stand out from the riff-raff have named themselves "engineers", much to the disapproval of the real engineers.
My way to do this:So like Style Converters?
I don't see this being implemented in-game though.. They got Morag Tong & Imperial converters..
How would they add it though if the Morag Tong & Imperial Converters were bought?
unless I am misunderstanding

DB side: add an Item.VisualMotif field to complement the existing Item.BaseMotif field (keep the .BaseMotif for reversion);
Game mechanic: I have an item I wish to transmog:
IF I am a crafter of sufficient level (ie L50/10 for CP160) AND
IF I know the target motif for that piece (head, chest, etc) AND
IF I have researched the trait for that piece (if any) AND
IF I have a Mimic Stone (this is the profit bit for ZoS that also distinguishes this system from the prepaid transmog system)
THEN I can change the visual style of the item at the appropriate crafting station.

For a storage system in a house you would need to connect to the servers to check the contents. On a slow day this could take a while. If you have a large number of items in your bank it could take longer. People would get irritated by this, so it would need minimising as much as possible.

While the trait criterion could be removed, I added it to try to give some value to the immense amount of time and effort long-term crafters have to go to to become 9-trait with most or even all of the available motifs. The Mimic Stone criterion, or something functionally equivalent, is necessary to distinguish the system from the existing transmog system that people have paid good money for. If everybody suddenly got the same functionality only better for nothing then all hell would break loose and rightly so.Bobby_V_Rockit wrote: »TheRealPotoroo wrote: »So they've gone back to the 1980s then.lordrichter wrote: »The developers that want to stand out from the riff-raff have named themselves "engineers", much to the disapproval of the real engineers. My way to do this:So like Style Converters?

If I know the piece motif, I can change it. No further requirements. I shouldnt have to seek out a career crafter and pay through the nose for the priviledge.

He says that transmog and additional storage face heavy technical difficulties !!!It is pretty technically complex. We can’t just increase storage because Elder Scrolls Online is just not setup for that. We would love to, but we don’t have plans for it right now.
I, admittedly, am no programmer. But I am computer literate enough to understand that there is nothing, absolutely nothing technically difficult in applying a texture that already exists to a gear (basically, a set of stats) that already exists. Also, there is absolutely nothing difficult is telling any given inventory item to contain X maximum slots instead of Y maximum slots.
So please Mr. Firor, do not take me for stupid.
The "difficulties" you are "facing" are strictly related to how you are going to implement it in the game as either (or both) a gameplay incentive or/and a mean of monetization. Which, by the way, are fair and serious questions. But no "technical difficulties".
And the reason why you don't want to increase storage aren't technical. It's just that storage is the undisputed number one incentive for players to subscribe.

No ETA does not mean confirmed. You're just hearing what you want to hear.

@AdamBourke, come on dude! What could be the difference between accessing a chest in your house or accesing your own bank from your personal banker? I see no difference at all.
Since Clockwork City will be a mini trial that I wont be able to play then that DLC have no value for me. I was expecting a new zone to explore.
I may be in the minority, but I hope monster pieces are excluded from transmog functionality.
want lol button.
Admits not a programmer, goes on like they know things anyway.
