Sprinting Broken on PS4?

So I've had an issue since Morrowind with all of my characters. Doesn't matter if they are mounted or not, but SPRINT seems to be broken for me. I begin sprinting and seem to run into an invisible block of some kind, much like running into an NPC - only nobody is there. It doesn't seem to be related to lag or the new reverse kinetic footing thing. It is, however, REALLY obnoxious.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there a fix?

I recorded a short video of it happening but cannot seem to figure out how that video can be uploaded from the PS4 to anything/anywhere else. :(

EDIT (for others, in case the response from support (below) work out):

Thank you for taking the time to contact us at The Elder Scrolls Online Team. My name is XXXXX and I will be assisting you today.

I see you have found some worries fro seeing that the Sprint feature is no longer working as intended in your game! I know just how alarming this situation may seem at first, but please do not fear for we will do everything in our power to help you with your troubles.

Now in order to possibly resolve this trouble you have been having in game, I would now like to suggest some very helpful troubleshooting to try! That being said if you could please first give your game a soft reboot. Start by logging out for 15 minutes followed by giving your console a power cycle. To do so:

1. Press and hold the [PS] button on your controller.
2. Turn off the PS4 with Turn Off PS4 and not "Enter Rest Mode."
3. Make sure the light goes out on the console and then unplug its power cable and wait for 10 seconds.
4. Plug the power cable back in and turn the console back on by pressing the [PS] button on your controller.

In addition to the above, deleting your ESO saved data file can resolve some errors on console. Please be aware that deleting the save data will only reset your Options settings, and that no character data or game progress will be affected.

1. From the PlayStation Dynamic Menu, navigate to Settings.
2. Go to Application Saved Data.
3. In Application Saved Data, select The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel.
4. Press the [Options] button of the controller on the ESO:TU Save Data.
5. Select Delete.

I'm still in the "wait 15 minutes" portion and figured I'd delete the several videos I'd recorded of the issue since the save files may be contributing to the issue itself.

Get a USB stick, plug it into your PS4, transfer the video you want to upload, put it on your PC, upload it to YouTube.

So this has still been going on, worsening day by day.

Support advised me to do a "rebuild database" in the PS4's safe mode, and that worked. The first time. When the issue came back (within a few hours), the previous fixes didn't resolve it at all.

And now support is...closed? No replies today whatsoever.

This issue continues - and affects all characters. The original resolution was that support went in and removed "a status effect that was not ending when it should have." They said this was done on two characters, and yes, it did seem to fix the problem. However, the problem returned and the glitch is debilitating for game play.

The bug isn't related solely to SPRINT either. It affects all mobility. I have seen it happen while walking, "jogging," and even in water. It happens whether or not my characters are on a mount. The solutions offered seem to be temporary and do not prevent it from returning. I attempted to continue playing - did the final stage in the main quest on my warden, and the number of falls-to-my-death (a great Argonian name, right?) in the "final assault" portion where you have to jump from ledge to ledge to get the sconces lit up due to falling...just pathetic really.

    Here's a more detailed description:
A character will be stationary and I will begin to move him/her. The character will then appear to be bumping into an object that is not visible. Sometimes even "sliding" as if trying to move around the unseen obstacle. It's really weird to see, but you know how it looks when you're running through an area and a guard or other NPC is in the path - your character continues to move forward, just "around" the obstacle as they try to keep moving. This is the same thing - only without a visible NPC or object blocking the route.

Solution 1: Support manually removes a status effect that the player cannot see, nor remove.
The problem with this is, of course, that support has to go in and change this manually. When they attempted to do this the second time around (when it didn't work), there was no warning, I just received an "Error 307 Booted from server" message. A little communication would have been nice. (What happened to having in-game GMs that communicate with players...and why do I see the tip/warning to not "be fooled by impostors" beause "real GMs will have a [z] by their name" if there ARE no real GMs in the game?)
Solution 2: Rebuild the database while in "safe mode" on the PS4.
This worked once or twice, but out of the 8-10 times I've done this, the last half dozen times or so have been unsuccessful.
Solution 3: Delete all saved game files.
This solution has been a step included in the above, but has had zero noticeable effect.

This seems to be a very new bug, though I would be willing to argue that a previous issue I've noticed is similar in nature. When picking up a daily crafting writ, sometimes a character will be temporarily unable to move. Swapping weapons will often fix it. It's annoying, not 100% reliable/repeatable, so I never bothered to try to report it. However, the immobility portion is similar.

For anybody else experiencing this strange movement bug, the issue still persists.

Support (the higher tier) got in touch with me over the weekend. They told me to take all items off my character and then swim out into the water until death by slaughterfish occurs, then resurrect at a wayshrine and check the issue prior to re-equipping my gear.

    Did that. Didn't work.

The follow up was if that did NOT work, to log off, close the game client, and delete the local save files. Then relaunch the game.

    Did that. Didn't work.

I played in Vvardenfell with a friend all morning on Saturday. In voice chat she confirmed that she could see the effect affecting my character - that I would be running along, leading the way, then suddenly appear to just pause and "twitch" a bit while trying to navigate around some invisible obstacle. She said she would have assumed this was a lag issue on her end (some kind of delay in what she saw me doing) were it not for me whining about it in voice chat.

She and I played for several hours, knocked out the quest to get her the Telvanni Magister personality (whee!), and then she logged off. I took a short break and then switched characters. Lo and behold, I had no sluggish movement. I joined up with a group of guildies doing some skyshard/Mage book hunting and things were great for a while. Logged off for a bit and did some real life.

Returned to do crafting dailies on Sunday morning. I actually said out loud (to my dogs, not the TV - I'm not a crazy person) "It's so nice to be able to MOVE again." Well, Murphy's Law is as cruel as RNGesus and within minutes I was just sluggishly moving along again, bumping into the invisibles. The problem lasted all day. The problem got several characters killed several times.

I let support know it was still ongoing but did not see the email reply until this morning. Already sent a reply over to them to update, so just waiting on another response.

To confirm, support said the method of dying doesn't matter. Dying is the fix. Support also said that unequipping the gear is simply to avoid repair costs - so allegedly it's not related to some kind of item bug causing the issue (nor did I think it was since it affects all characters).

Anyway, if anyone else has experienced this and managed a fix, please let me know.

It feels like there's gum stuck to both my feet and mount even going solo or low pop
    Aussie lag is real!

@Kram8ion: Yeah - it happens to me when I'm just walking as well as sprinting (though it's more noticeable when sprinting because of the sudden STOP). It's so sluggish and weird, like wading through muck. I almost feel as if it's a ninja-programmed thing to make me pay for skipping through Shadowfen as quickly as possible on every character.

It's probably your controller, get a new one. One of my controllers had an issue with the analog stick, and I hooked it up to a PC and saw that when I pushed the stick forward, it would randomly show that it was going back to center even though I still had it forward.

@gootdude - But both controllers do it, and one is a relatively recent purchase and neither have issues in other games, so as much as I'd like to see that as the solution, I'm pretty sure it isn't. Unless they both happen to be suffering from the same exact hardware malfunction at the same time. Plus the only way to test that theory is to buy another, and Zenimax already ate my disposable income this month, heheh.

I'm still getting this bug on Xbox One.

Happened just last night in a BG match. Are we ever going to get a fix?
