Well this is for fun, but I still want to get the most out of it as possible. I already have Min/Maxed versions of all the stam/mag classes (except warden).
Also can I say this about hybrids? When people say "work" I think they mean they aren't not competitive in trials. Most people would say that a mSorc build that did 30k dps does not "work". But if the goal is non-trial, 30k dps is just fine.
I think "work" is context dependent.

You're putting way too much thought in to min/maxing a build that'll never be useful for anything besides soloing.
Hybrids do not work.

They advertised it as "play your way! Pick up a bow and be a bow guy! Pick up a wand and be a mage!"
When in reality this game is probably the least hybrid friendly MMO and most punishing to spec swapping I've ever played.

Yeah I understand and I know the issues, I just sometimes feel people have become so used to the speeds of pure builds they're not willing to accept a group with lower DPS which can still clear the content.Attackfrog wrote: »This reply makes me so happy, I wish more players understood this.OldGamerESO wrote: »Invincible wrote: »

We also have to keep in mind that he is basically min/maxing a hybrid (as much as you can anyway). It looks like he has access to pretty much BiS gear (for a hybrid lol!) and 600+ CP's, but even with all that, his damage or tanking ability might not be enough for trials (versus "pure" classes).
It's all relative; there are newer players running hybrids now (at low levels with low CP and fresh 50 gear) and if you end up grouped with them, it tends to take forever, so I get what Invincible is saying.
Without access to great gear and 600+ CP's, most hybrids perform terribly in groups (though in overland/questing do just fine).

I don't think it's helped that ZOS has balanced trial boss health and clear times around focused builds as well, especially if they're trying to encourage open gameplay.
Also are you the same @Attackfrog I know from that Twitter place?
