Potential problem with Max magicka and sets (necropotence/ Mother's sorrow)

So I have 5 piece Mother's sorrow, 5 piece necropotence. My Necro is my 3 jewelery pieces (all gold), 1 chest piece, and both my staves. My Mother's is my shoulders, legs, waist, feet, and hands. And I have a 1 piece monster helm.

When I hover over a 6th piece of necro, however. I gain even more max magicka despite the Mother's sorrow gloves also being gold, with the same enchant. I do not understand why. I am not gaining more set bonuses (in fact, I'd be losing my Mother's Sorrow 5 piece).

Does armor give more max magicka than jewelery? Or is this a bug and my jewelery is not giving me the gold values that it should?

I see what you are saying. All I can think is that it's an error. Does the max magic number actually change when you switch it?

This afternoon I made a gold weapon enchant for another character. Put it in my bank or so I thought. So I check and don't find the enchant but rather a gold llambris shoulder. Lol I have some but they are all purple. So I log on to the character that needed the enchantment and no more gold lo llambris. .sigh

By about how much does your max magicka increase?

If its about 4k, and your max magicka doesn't actually increase when the 6th piece is equipped. I'd say it's just a UI error with necropotence.

It changes about 600 magicka when I put on the 6th piece of Necro.

Your staves don't count as 2 as you are only equipping one at a time. You are only gaining the correct amount. On your "sixth" piece.

What are you talking about? Both staves are necro.
Necro: 3 piece jewelery, 1 chest, BOTH STAVES = 5 pieces. No weapon swap affected.

EDIT: That is clearly stated in my original post. Please read everything fully.

EDIT 2: If I were counting both staves, then I'd have 6 pieces and the gloves would be number 7.

Tried using /reloadui after putting on each glove? could be that it isn't updating correctly.

So what happens if you actually equip the necro gloves? Do you end up wi th 47862 majika?

I've heard of rumours where the buffs stick to you even if you unequip. Ive never seen it though.

Yeah it changes. I'm not sure why. And it's bothering me because what am I doing a 5-5-1 for if it doesn't min max my stats?

I just tried it myself (same exact setup as you except with War Maiden instead of Mother's Sorrow). No change when I swap out the War Maiden gloves for Necropotence. Might be a bug specifically with Mother's Sorrow.

After uninstalling and re-installing my AUI. It seems to be a problem or a bug with the game UI itself. Even though on the Character Inventory screen it says I gain ~600 magicka, I do not.

With or without my AUI, this seems to persist in-game and only on that initial Character Inventory screen.

Those numbers to the right of your equipped gear are often highly inaccurate when showing what your stats will be after the change. It does not take numerous calculations into account. I have noticed discrepancies with many different types of gear. I just pay no attention to them when changing gear, and rely on my own maths.
