Didn't get my Perfect Roe?

I was just fishing in Craglorn and got about 20 fish to skin, I do so and about half way through I get the gold stream of light animation letting me know I got a Perfect Roe, I finish skinning the rest of my fish and look for the Perfect Roe in my inventory, only to find I didn't have any. What happened? Is this some type of bug?
