Crit Calculation Bug: Thief Mundus / Divines / Other Factors?

So, I logged in today and found it rather strange that I no longer had the 70% Crit I usually expect to see, but rather 54%. After testing to see if it was addon related, we found it wasn't that... I also thought maybe it was Divines not being applied to Spell Crit, as removing and adding equipment was raising Weapon Crit, but not Spell Crit.

Eventually, I narrowed it down to something to do with the Thief mundus. With no equipment, but with Thief on, my Spell Crit was 22%, and my Weapon Crit was 33.8%.

Once I had fiddled around with things to get the correct 70% crit amount, I relogged... and found myself back down to 54%.

As an experiment, I made a full set of non-set Medium armor (to ensure my Light Armor passives weren't adding to spell crit -- I have no Medium Armor passives learned). It looked like it may have been calculating correctly, so I tried putting my usual set on, and it was back up to 70%.

I'm not entirely sure what's causing this issue... Might need to do more experimenting, but I feel like something somewhere is broken.

For reference, here's the equipment I'm using, and its impact on crit bonuses:

- Divines Armor Pieces: 7 -- 5 Gold with 7.5%, 2 Purple with 6.5% (Total: 50.5%)
- Julianos, 5 piece (688 Spell Crit x 2 = 1376 Spell Crit)
- Precise Weapons: 2 -- 2 Purple with 3% each = 6% Spell Crit
- Light Armor Passive - Prodigy: 2191 Spell Crit
- Major Prophecy via Inner Light: 2191 Spell Crit
- The Thief Boon: 2410 Spell Crit naked, 3627 equipped (as per above)
- * Apprentice Bonus, Spell Precision: 12% Spell Crit

Anyone else experience any odd discrepancies with their Spell Crit, or crit in general?

* - Addendum, was active during testing as I hadn't reset CP, but neglected to add this in original post.

    Now I'm gonna have to check mine and see if it's working correctly :neutral:

    Checked your CP for still having 30 points in apprentice?

    Naked -> 5%, + 17% from thief sounds right.
    + Julianos -> 6% -> 23%
    + 2 prec weaps -> 29%
    + inner light -> 39%
    + prodegy -> 49%
    + 7 divines -> one gold divine is ~0,9%, purp bit more than 0,7% -> 54% sounds about right
    + adding cp should push u to 66%
    + e.g. minor sorcery if a friendly templar is around would get u above 70%

    There were some old bugs where adding/removing DIVINES equipment wouldn't properly affect the values, and vice versa.

    on/off topic, in general how useful is crit really in PVE?

    Very. Over the thumb:

    #1 Get your penetration to ~10k w/ sharp weapon + penetration set (nmg/spriggan/tfs/sunderflame) if stamina or sharp weapon + light armor passives.

    #2 Equalise crit rate and crit dmg. crit dmg: 50% base + up to 25% from cp + 10% from minor force + 15% from major force + optionally 10% from class passives. getting crit rate as close to that as possible (90% is hard cap i was told).
    Baseapproach: 10% critchance and 50% critdmg equalise a "flat" 5% dmg increase: 10% of your hits doing 50% more dmg is as good as all your hits doing 5% more dmg. Same ratings is the local optimum compared to overloading one while ignoring the other. (and there u thought math would be useless in the real world xD)

    #3 weapon/spell dmg -> scale percentual means increasing your wd/sd by 20% increases your dmg done by 10% same goes for max stat. wd/sd is "better" than maxstat as u get more points per setbonus slot.

    #4 Maxstat: see above.

    Sidenotes:
    Crit gets more usefull, the more apm your rota gets -> high crit is good if u run a lot of dots.
    Skills scale differently from wd/sd and maxstat, there r some skills that scale alot better with wd/sd and there r things (like sorc shrimp or shields) that scale exclusively from maxstat. above order is a "blanket-approach" assuming equal scaling.

    Ah, yes, when listing what I had on that was affecting Spell Crit, Apprentice is also one of those. Edited list accordingly -- and now I'm wondering if the CP bonus was what was broken?

    I'm really confused as to what caused it in the first place, and it wasn't reliably reproducible. At first it seemed to be, then it went away.

    Either way, something wasn't right, and I'm not sure if it's a display issue or if my Spell Crit was actually lower than it should have been.
