can i get a crown gem refund on a furnishing I havnt used?

I panicked bought the statue of hircine since there is a time limit but it turns out it wont fit the housing plans I have in mind. Crown gems are hard to acquire and now I'm sad I'm stuck with a furnishing I don't plan to use

Livvy✭✭✭✭✭The way the Crown Crate furnishings seemed to work for me was like this... If I got one from a card, I could turn it in for gems. But if I spent gems for one, I could not turn around and turn the one purchased with gems in for gems. If that makes sense.
