Still no Guild Trader search really?

So i played at launch and one of my biggest gripes was the lack of being able to search the ah. I also saw it mentioned quite a few times on the forums. Why can i not type in what im looking for instead of scrolling 50 pages? Its very tedious and time consuming and should be an easy fix..

There is no auction house. Only guild traders. Download the awesome guild store add-on to get a search bar for a guild trader.

There really does need to be a search function in the base game. PC does have add-ons for it, but on console I'm not willing to search for certain items. Crafting materials? Sure. A specific motif? Not even close.

He means the Guild Traders.

Awesome Guild Store only lists the first page in the search. I've reverted back to the UI version.

But yes, ESO really need to make a proper search function rather than just narrowing down the possibilities in the drop-down menu.

Still no auction house at all, actually. Just a set of restricted sales kiosks dependent on being in the right trading guilds and geared pretty much to high-level play. And, as you rightly say, with no proper search function.

Not that I necessarily want an auction house. It would certainly be an improvement on the present system, for all but those who make a fortune from it, but I'd personally settle for opening up the present system to include a NPC merchant in all main trading locations with whom anyone could list a very small number of items for sale at a high rate of commission to be shared between the guilds trading in those locations. That would enable those who aren't in a successful trading guild that week as well as those not in any trading guilds to participate in at least a nominal way which might then encourage them to get more involved in the established trading guilds - so everyone would benefit, including the trading guilds.

While I do understand that ZOS are not prepared to change the present system because they have so much reputation invested in it, and the successful trading guilds make for a powerful lobby, I am disappointed that they haven't indicated any acknowledgement whatsoever of the concerns even the supporters of the present system have with it and consequently there have been no meaningful improvements to it since they introduced the guild traders to the game despite so many calls even for just a proper search function.

Well there you go. That's ZOS for you. It's the same in every single damn part of the game. Their playerbase are 95% ignored.

It's like dealing with a brick wall. So frustrating for everyone.

Yea i mean i do agree it should be more open and not just guild ah but thats for another thread. All im asking for is a search function and id be happy. If they can do it on addons surely ZOS can do it with ease or allow addons on the xbox.

The first part, well, all of it is, is most certainly based on a tainted view. Powerful lobby? Have to be in the right guild? Geared to high level play. All totally incorrect.

Other than maybe a smoother system for searching what is in the particular trader game don't see anything for Zos to discuss. I think it's expecting way to much if someone expects the company to respond to everything posted in the forums.

Oh they've responded to it plenty of times on ESO Live, for example. They just haven't conceded the need to do anything about it.

As for a "tainted view", well that may or may not be the case but if so then I'm sure that there are equally tainted views on the other side of the argument. Some dislike the present system on principle, others like it because they're making a lot of gold from it. Which is the more tainted view, I wonder

Nobody's expecting them to respond to everything. Just a small percentage would be an improvement. Currently nearly all their input is with the forum nerfbat for perceived forum rules infringement.

You has inaccurate information which is why I stated the tainted view.

Zos has no reason to concede anything in the trading topic as long as it works as they intended and are pleased with its performance.

They do reply to more than a small percentage. A large percentage is repeat threads. Heck, many demand replies to their threads on exact topics Zos has responded to previously.

Unless you play on consoles, like me on XB1 no add on's or mods allowed, at that point your screwed, just lots of running around from one Guild Store to another speeding lots of waisted hours, days, weeks, months, years, decades.... Scrolling, and scrolling, and scrolling, an searching, more scrolling, crashing , freezing, logging out from inactivity timers only to never be able to find what you need, or finding it at such a high price that it's not worth your time.

AGS is so central to this game, I doubt I'd even play if I didn't have it.

keep going through pages. its not very intuitive, but what awesome guild store does (and part of it is due to the mess that is base UI) is merely hide results that do not match your search criteria. it doesn't consolidate the results that do so keep going to next page and next and next until you either hit the last page, of find the item you need. still scrolling, but at least you don't have to scroll through EVERYTHING. just hit next page.

Yeah I think the OP meant guild traders instead of an auction house.

I 100% agree that a guild trader search function should be a part of the base game, which should also provide a robust level of filters so players can fine-tune their search like in Awesome Guild Store. I think an interesting idea to consider is to have a base-game guild trader search that can be broadened by the player as follows:
1) Single trader only (most basic).
2) Allow players to search all the guild traders in a zone. This would give more visibility to out-of-the way traders.
3) Allow players to search all guild traders in a faction. Once again out-of-the way traders gain more visibility, and this option would slightly satisfy those who want a Global Auction House. This would allow players to search all faction traders in 3 broad searches, but still require the player to visit the trader to purchase.

While we PC users have the Awesome Guild Store addon to fill the guild trader search gap in the default UI, the console players are left hanging. I feel bad for them, not just for the Awesome Guild Store, but for all the other great functionality that PC users can get through addons for functionality that ZOS has yet to implement in the base game (e.g. being able to view the inventory of all your characters [Inventory Insight]; viewing and tracking all recipes known across all characters [ESO Recipe Master List]; pro guild trader features [Master Merchant; Tamriel Trade Center]; harvest map for the node farmers [HarvestMap]; etc.

The best way to cross balance not having an AH in game is to implement marketers per major hub in each zone that pools all the info from all those guilds in that zone to that central marketer instead so when you buy something from that marketer it would be as if you were buying it from that guild store.

Thus keeping Guild stores in game and also have a better time consuming search as well.

It's no longer rude when it is true . How many years have we been asking for basic QoL improvements ? We've been told guild management tools were being looked into two years . Not a word since . Guild trader item search function , no word at all . All these things get passed over every year for trivial items and cosmetics . I am not being rude in the slightest it just happens to be the truth is unpleasant and patience is something that can practiced daily but is meaningless if the wait never ends .

Pls add this for console I beg of you! I can't stand scrolling through 65746537657365 pages of motifs looking for just one page of a specific one. Takes far too much time and more than half the time after all the time spent searching I find out the trader doesn't even have it and on to the next. It's mind numbing.

Supposedly a word search box or even alpha sorting columns would break this game. Believe it or not. So no, no Trader searching by typing in a letter, number, or word (like every other program can do).

Or at least give us an NPC at each major city that can search all the traders and tell me what I am looking for is... That would be great! Save me a metric ton of effort.
