ARE YOU LAGGING TOO OFTEN AFTER THE RECENT UPDATE?

After the last update, the game is almost impossible to play on PvP areas. Sometimes it lags on PvE areas too or pledges, but in PvP areas like the old Azura, It's so terrible! Most of the time I don't even get 999 ping notification in game I just freeze lag at 25o or something. I was considering myself to buy the new DLC but with the current issues, that's a big no.

Could you folks please check on what's going on? My timezone is GMT-3 and I can guarantee you my reports on internet service are the same before the update so basically something happened after the update.

I would appreciate any help. Thank you.

It's been a while since I've played but it might just be due to a higher player pop because of Morrowind.

It spiked a lot today . Probably 10-15 times so far . Not sure the issue as nothing on my end has changed .

I may get beaten down BUT I notice a fair while from your original post until now........

Whenever I get unstable fps or ping my first go to step is reset my router, the difference that can make is astounding!

Don't just unplug and plug back in, give at least 3-5mins before you plug it back in.

Edit:- check your addons are as up to date as possible

Only time I lag is during certain hours of the day due to network traffic in my area. Otherwise still about the same

Not really. There are bouts of lag spikes but it's not too bad.

However, recent incremental update made my laptop run hotter for some unknown reason. CPU resources consumption is almost identical to before but somehow heat has increased by quite a fair amount.
My usual CPU temps hover within the range of 68c-75c but after latest incremental patch, it's around 77c-82c.

I have been experiencing bouts of lag the last few days, but today it's been unplayable. Every time I have logged in this evening it's at +999 and never drops below 700.

Had very unusual lags on PC EU this morning, in the Eastmarch PvE zone. Not many players around, mobs and animation froze for a few seconds + rubberbanding. Hope this was just a fluke.

PC EU - Playing from South Africa so 250 is usual.

The last couple of days I've spent more time around 350-450ms with frequent spikes above 900 and sporadic spikes in the range of 1600 - 9000+. With or without BattlePing my latency is like loosing the lottery every night.

I'm pulling my hair out, avoiding anything group related (in conjunction with DF bugs).

I only PvE, mainly open world in Morrowind and the base game including delves and dolmens etc but I haven't lagged at all on the PC EU server (since launch really but certainly with no noticeable performance issues since Morrowind). I'm in the UK.

It really helps when reporting these sorts of issues if you mention your platform and server, as well as where you're playing from.

It's been pretty bad for me lately. A couple of nights I just signed out because it was so bad. It's the only problem I have with a game that I really just love. It's probably the only reason I'll probably end up quitting (if you can't play, it kind of defeats the purpose of signing on).

I'm just really hoping they do something to make it better. If it's because of more players, then I hope they do something to fix it so those players stay. Otherwise, the solution will be when those of us who get frustrated just quit (and lowers the lag), but I really hope they're thinking beyond that as a solution.

The game has always lagged in heavy PvP. I've experienced nothing different so new the last update.

Download Wireshark at https://wireshark.org/#download, after installation you can launch it along side your game and use it to capture and view the packets on the network adapter currently in use. You will probably see plenty of duplicate acknowledgements and fast re-transmissions when you get lag spikes, if I remember correctly they will be color coded in black, write down the ip addresses.

I don't think it's because there are new players... I played this game when it was super populated and didn't crash like it's been happening to me these past few days. Anywhere where there's a zerg, I can't even heal myself. Game freezing in the middle of fighting another player is so not fun. I just started a discussion of my own about this, and, as stated in my said discussion, I don't have connection problem as bad in other games. My ping spikes in PvE area also. It's getting on my nerves now...

In PvE, I have noticed some lagging, and a few spikes, which did not occur prior to the expansion patch. But isn't this somewhat normal in all MMO's after a large patch? I do play on a PC.

I play on ps4 and so far either extreme load in lag or random spikes.

And when playing my warden the cloff racer seems to 3/4ths of the time doesnt wanna appear
