I have every motif in game.
I am 9 trait crafter
I have 22k acheivement score.

Yet idiot toons with no cp lvl or traits or motifs are getting 300+ tickets.
I have received 3 worth less than 20 together in the past week on my master.

Whats the go??

The RNG on these is not unlike blackjack. In the short term, you might have streaks of good or bad luck. So you might get one 5 voucher writ on a master, while a noob gets a 150 voucher writ. In the long run, though, the RNG will even put and perform however they set it to perform...your master crafter will do better than unskilled toons. That's been my experience running both a master and some mules. Some weeks they pull way more, but since the patch dropped he's easily earned 3x what they have.

Based on doing a lot of these, I suspect that the buff from being experienced comes when the system decides writ quality, not when it decides if you get a writ. It could be both, but in my experience my master and mule pull an equal number of wood writs, it's just that the master gets legendary writs far more often.

I understand but i swear in the patch notes somewhere it said its based off cheeve score, traits, and motif learned for bigger teir master writs. So i assumed your master would get higher ticket writs. If ya know what i mean. Still have t had a 100+ yet

The traits/motifs known and achievements only affect the base chance, so I'm guessing they don't actually increase the chance by that much.

In my experience, my master crafter has probably gotten more MWs, and it only seems like my alts do, since I have more alts and see more from them overall. However, I will say that my highest voucher writs have been from my alts - almost exclusively. My master crafter has rarely received a MW for legendary gear. In fact, my best to date - 257 vouchers - came from an alt.

I recorded my master writs over 91 days and so no evidence that crafting achievement improved returns.

    I Agree

The chance to get a master writ is influenced by your crafters knowledge but the voucher amount (type of master writ) is pure RNG.

All makes sense to me. The 'idiot' crafters capable of making nothing but rubbish, get the most difficult master writs. Master Crafters get to laze around ... with nothing to do.

    Count yourself lucky.

I have only received 1 Master Writ in the last two weeks with a value of 2 vouchers.

Since Morrowind was patched the overall volume of master writs has dropped for me (~14-16 writ runners), but the number of vouchers per writ increased dramatically.

RNG being what it is I could be on a lucky streak, but it also seems that the writs are dropping more times for more vouchers from my accomplished crafters.

That has not been my experience. My equipment Master-Writs/Writs-done ratio is higher for my best crafters:

    Best crafter: 11.4%
    2nd tier crafters: 8%
    3rd tier crafters: 4%

My Vouchers/Master-Writ value has no obvious pattern:

    Best crafter: 15.5 per MW
2nd tier crafters: 23.2 per MW
3rd tier crafters: 18.1 per MW

Total achievement score does not factor into master writs, only crafting achievements count towards master writ drop rate.

It's the typical modus operandi for ZOS and ESO. Every time something potentially fun and rewarding is added to the game, it's hidden behind layers and layers of stupid, neanderthalic RNG.

ZOS has this weird idea that we don't want to keep playing their game unless they punish us with absolute unpredictability, randomness and inconsistancy.

Gods forbid we should actually receive due reward for dilligent effort, and be able to plan ahead and work towards a progressive goal at a steadily pace.

If I wanted to play a godsdamned slot machine I'd have gone to a casino instead.

I don't think that is what he meant by idiots.

I think he meant characters unlearned in traits and motifs, not the players themselves.

I'm in the same boat on my main crafter. The system just seems like a bad joke. I pull more off my Alts I'm just farming gold on than my main that knows everything for armor crafting.

Master crafter in everything. I got quite a few in the beginning but lately pretty much nothing - maybe since Morrowind on 5/22? But then I always seem to be at the crappy end of the RNG tail.

When I hit 50 in all my professions, I got a bunch the first few weeks. Lately though, the most I've gotten is a runecrafting or alchemy write here or there, maybe 25 vouchers total.
  • louisianalady43
Not only are the writ vouchers also more non existent; THEY HAVE INCREASED THE PURCHASE PRICE OF THE VOUCHERS FROM 10 TO 25 FOR PURPLE FURNISHINGS.

Well, I don't think I will be wasting my time on doing writ vouchers any longer.

Why do you have to fix something that isn't broken as we continue to get KICKED from game 5-10 times a day?

Great whiney attitude there, I sincerely hope RNG gives you even less MW now for your derogotry comments for people with no cp or traits.

OK, before you start writing accusatory replies, read the post. It was cleared that @Destyran did not mean players, but " low level toons that are nothing." And he is upset with the fact that those toons that he has "Are pulling higher than my master"

    So read first. Yell later.

Agree OP, I was excited that introduction of "Master" writs might be prelude to more crafting improvements but the abysmal drop rate and low writ values have been frustrating. Thanks for posting feedback, I would love to see more improvements.
