Delves and Public Dungeons are stupid, you can't find a single boss to kill

This is occurring all over Tamriel and the problem is people grinding for XP rather than questing. I find it aggravating as well and it really does compromise my enjoyment. If you feel that what you found in Morrowind is bad then stay away from Skyreach in Craglorn. Its a circus.

Personally, i think that ZOS should create an area just for grinders. Then everyone can enjoy the game.

Honestly, I don't understand why one would "grind" anything. Just play the game, isn't that the point?

I mean, you don't tune into a movie in the last 10 seconds, and you wouldn't skip to the end of a hockey game. You want the EXPERIENCE of these things, not the final result.

I see the problem in delves, where I sometimes can't kill any mob, because of ppl. I know that this is MMO, I just don't like it about MMOs. But public dungeons should be public, because they are too hard for one person.

Then maybe they need to "adjust" the boss difficulty based on the number of players in the area like they do domen...The way it is currently, I'm lucky to get more than 4 hits in before the boss drops.

The current state is the exception, not the rule. Head to any of the non-Vvardenfell dungeons and you'll see what they're usually like: pretty much empty, though occasionally you'll cross paths with or find yourself in the trail of another player soloing the content.

that won't solve anything, it will just make life harder for new/solo players. The should be an option to go in a separte instance, or join "public instances" something like that.

how would scaling the boss hurt solo players? If you're the ONLY one there, the boss will be super easy. If there's 14 players there with you, the boss won't die in 5 seconds.

This post is funny to me.

    Either OP is complaining because:

    1. He wants to do the public dungeon(s) once to experience the content and has to wait longer than usual for boss spawns because the content is new and a lot of people are using them to farm gear.
    or
    2. He wants to farm gear in them and is mad because a lot of other people are doing the same thing so he has to wait longer to farm gear.

Case number 1 seems like a valid gripe. In fact ZOS even limited the drop rate to try and prevent people from doing this. That said, I doubt many people actually fall into this category and even if they do...they only do it once anyway so you are talking about 5 minutes instead of 15 minutes for the dungeon and then the quest(s) are done and it is on to the next thing anyway.

Case 2 seems far more likely. The ironic thing about that is complaint threads like this are exactly why the drops stop happening. I had this happen to me once when I was legitimately trying to do the dungeon. I did all the bosses and even found a couple of chests since that dungeon didn't have any valuable gear so was relatively empty. The sad thing is I stopped getting loot from it after 2 bosses and 1 chest IIRC because of complaint threads like this.

I don't know that individual / multiple instances are easy to do or viable, so ultimately I can think of 2 ways to correct the problem (if you even want to call it a problem):

    1. Take away the update that was made that prevents loot from dropping. People are still going to farm these anyway.
    or
    2. Make the bosses a lot harder so they are more like world bosses and one person can't solo them.

Out of these two ideas I like #1 alot better. Mostly because I recently noticed I actually like doing these while I level a character and would continue to like to do them on my own (since most public dungeons are deserted or much less crowded anyway).

#2 would seems like it would also help with the problem (if you even want to call it a problem) since the bosses would take longer to kill and more people would get a chance to get some shots in, but it would also make the game more difficult for people like me that actually want to do the content for the sake of doing the content and not just to do it repeatedly for whatever the overland flavor of the week is.

TLDR = I don't think OP is really complaining because he wants to experience the content, and I think ZOS should remove the update they did that prevents bosses from dropping loot and makes you wait several minutes to try and help with the situation.

I didn't even think of this but that also seems like a good idea. The only concern is every other player in the instance could be doing something different and you would end up with a boss that had 14x hit points and forced to solo it or *gasp* talk to people you may not know and do the public content together...

The content just came out. What did you expect?

being able to play it, is that too much to ask? also, in PC has been available for weeks. Just make delves and public dungeons instance based and problem solved

Yeah Preaching to the Choir it would solve many problems, from lag to dealing with happy hoping morons looking for a free carry, Delves and public dungeons are pretty much the only issue I have with the game....but for some reason Matt thinks it's old school and hipster to have them, up until Craglorn we had a good mix now all but a handful of delves are public.

That's pretty Straw man, people rarely talk to anyone anyway other than to insult each other, it's the nature of things these days...forcing people into army ant mode doesn't work to foster socialization.

was in the hall of the dead in windhelm last night around 6 or 7pm p.s.t....there wasn't any other players in the whole dungeon - it was kind of weird cuz I remember reading this thread shortly before I went in...

some dungeons just seem to be more popular than others...

Some zones have gear that is more sought after. I don't think anyone actively farms the Eastmarch sets.
