Neither the idea of it adding bugs, nor your perception of the crafting system being weak is relevant...
Creatively speaking it could add, new quests, new locations, new titles, new collectables, new areas, new skills, new play styles, new dungeon layout possibilities new housing. I'm not sure what you mean when you say it doesn't have a point, how many more possibilities does it need to add in order to have a point in your view?

You're giving Zeni WAY too much credit here. I'm not saying diving as a feature in games isn't fun, but in ESO, where the track record is train wreck then band aid patching, I'm certain Zeni would somehow destroy that fun.
