Would you like to be able to dive underwater?

I think there are more critical and simpler things to fix, like instant mail or search by title in AH,

I agree about prioritization, but in theory, do you like the idea?

What use would diving serve? Aside from adding more unfixed bugs, I don't think diving has a point. Creatively speaking, it could be a way to harvest some underwater resource but I counter with, resources are pretty lame as it is without adding another. Crafting in general is the worst I've ever encountered so maybe it's not a great idea.

I'd be surprised if this were ever to happen, seems like more work and no $$ for Zeni, unless they start selling bikinis in the Crown store.

Neither the idea of it adding bugs, nor your perception of the crafting system being weak is relevant...

Creatively speaking it could add, new quests, new locations, new titles, new collectables, new areas, new skills, new play styles, new dungeon layout possibilities new housing. I'm not sure what you mean when you say it doesn't have a point, how many more possibilities does it need to add in order to have a point in your view?

I voted yes but I will say this would create far more work than graphically updating the Vanilla Zones would.

Probably best to do both at once, as in a way, their the same job. Adding stuff to do is important to though.

You're giving Zeni WAY too much credit here. I'm not saying diving as a feature in games isn't fun, but in ESO, where the track record is train wreck then band aid patching, I'm certain Zeni would somehow destroy that fun.

In a way, that's an argument against them adding any new features or content.

Yes I think it would be a nice update, although swimming in ESO seems to be far less frequent than in any other MMO I've played such as WoW.

And also, for me this would fall to a very low priority of things I'd like to see from ZOS. Things like fixing the dungeon finder and other monstrous bugs that plague ESO would be much more welcome than adding the ability to go underwater...

Definitely! I loved looking for treasure underwater in old TES games, or using a bit of swimming to infiltrate a otherwise unrechable area... there -must- be sunken ruins around, right? Right??? ...always had a spare ring of wather breathing in my inventory just in case...

The underwater combat I wouldn't be so keen at. Imagine a mage using a lightning staff and electrocuting himself... a fire staff and getting a faceful of steam... an ice staff and watching a block of ice just form around the staff end... :p But I guess it could be done with some special rules, like "basic melee attacks only" and the staff attacks also relegated to "shark stick" melee range...

Oh, well. Maybe in some maormer themed DLC someday?

Ideally yes, it would add a lot more exploration and give the game some fresh content and a new mechanic that can be used in various ways. I quite enjoyed discovering diving missions in WoW and realized how much more there was to do beneath the surface, literally.

Improving the vanilla game by adding more content and mechanics is always a win in my book, and sets the stage for more creative future DLC.

I don't think there's a MMO that does this right. Most underwater enemies/quests are pretty much just regular enemies/quests with added annoyance.

I do like diving in Witcher 3 though. It feels very dangerous and unique.

For me, not being able to dive makes the game a lot less realistic

    lol

So a dragon with a machine gun = cool but I can't dive = unrealistic?!

In all honesty I wouldn't mind this but I think it would take a lot of time and effort to do and I can think of a few things I would rather see prioritized.

Comon' ZOS. You knew this request would pop up sooner or later once you got your feet through the door to success. a lot of us would really like underwater content that other MMO's on the market offer.

What is your opinion on this topic @ZOS_MattFiror? I know you may have said something about this in the past as something you wanted.

Because it would be fun.. it would give people more to explore.. and it opens up a host of new possibilities. Sunken treasure, new collectibles for your house maybe, or new monsters with maybe drop special gear. Hidden underwater caves that open up into ruins to explore... there are just a lot of reason "why". The best answer maybe is... if it can be done.. why not?! :)

Being able to dive underwater always eventually leads to underwater combat, and ultimately an underwater zone, which I guess is fine in more cartoony games where people moving around and fighting like normal underwater gets a pass... But I just don't think it'd work for ESO.

You've never seen an environmental glitch until you've seen an environmental glitch while your oxygen is running out...

Probably best to leave this one be, less parts of the world they have to prevent /stuck and invisi-block in some fashion.

GW2 has (IMO) the best implementation of underwater content in MMOs and I still dont really like it. I dont see how ESO, which is already somewhat clunky and unresponsive on land, could do any better.
