Wrothgar Housing?

(In before "but the paywall!! :'(" because no one cares, shut up.)

I've been waiting for a nice little apartment or townhome in Orsinium, maybe something next to that bath house full of big sexy Orcs. When are we going to see more DLC-specific housing options? We already have properties available in Craglorn, and there are some options in Morrowind now, so what's stopping them from giving us homes in Hew's Bane or Wrothgar, or maybe in the Gold Coast area?

They did say that there will be more houses with the next update, in August. I'm hoping that they will be in the DLC zones, but we can only speculate for now.

I think they're afraid to put houses in Orsinium, Hew's Bane and Gold Coast because those areas are all free with a subscription. People will buy houses there forgetting they got access to the area with the subscription, then when their subscription lapses, they'll howl if their houses filled with furniture disappear.

I *think* this is why they won't put houses in those areas, but I haven't heard it from a developer, so couldn't tell you for sure. They can put houses in Vvardenfell because it's a pay-only area.

*EDIT* After reading further comments below, apparently it's completely do-able for them to put houses in these spots.

I thought I heard somewhere that you have access to the houses Vvardenfell even if you did not buy Morrowind. You can travel to it look it over and if you like you can buy it. When you leave you would teleport back to the point where you traveled to it.
So why couldn't they do the same thing with the houses in the DLC's.

CROWN CRATES: It doesn't affect gameplay, it's not mandatory, it's cosmetic only. If it helps to support the game and ZOS, I support it! Say YES to crown crates.

Yeah, it makes sense that they should be able to put houses in the other DLC areas, too, and do the same thing. I guess the doors would be disabled if that happened (if you didn't buy the DLC and didn't have a subscription).
I'd LOVE a house in Orsinium.

I do hope the new houses mentioned in the DLC announcement are in the DLC zones. They could just make them function like the ones in Morrowind - meaning you don't need to own the expansion and could port to the house, but when leaving, you'd port back to your last known safe location. Also, you'd only be able to purchase them with Crowns if you didn't own the DLC or weren't an ESO+ member, as with MW.

FYI, any player can access and purchase homes in Vvardenfell regardless of whether they have Morrowind. When you leave the home through the doors you get put back where you were when you first entered. The exact same thing would happen with DLC homes.

I would think so since there are some locked out houses in Wrothgar.

I want a house with grounds in the North near Windhelm for the snowy views. I don't think there are any houses with gardens/grounds in snow-covered terrain currently. A house on the side of a mountain with a bit of land and a view would make a great winter/Holiday retreat.

I'd like a wrothgar house as well as a coldharbour home.
