One of the first computer games I ever played was the original Morrowind. I spent hundreds of hours wandering through the alien landskape of Morrowind. When I go back to play it now I am forced to ask were the graphics really that bad? So while I have fond memories of the original Morrowind and do have a bit of nestalgia about it, I do not look back at it with rose tinted glasses.
I got the early Access to ESO Morrowind on the PC and have played it extensively and overall I think it is a wonderful addition that is extremely well developed and a wonderful tribute to one of the first video games I ever played. I love how well put together the quests seem to be. I love how much depth they put into even the side quests that you have to hunt in random parts of the map for. I am not one who easily gets emotionally attached to a game, however with how well written the characters and story for this game seem to be, I find myself getting emotionally involved into even simple side quests.
From the experience I have had so far if ESO Morrowind was released as a stand alone game I would feel it was well worth the price I paid to get it, and I got the Collector's Edition for the PC which cost a pretty penny.
Thank you Zenimax for the wonderful addition to this game.
What are your thoughts on the game?
Have you had any fun experiences playing it?
If you played the original Morrowind what do you think of the ESO Morrowind in comparison?
There are two quests that come to mind that seem to testify of just how much work they put into this game.
The first was right outside of Seyda Neen where I ran into what seemed like an imbisilic Khajiit who wanted me to go and poisen the crops the bandits stole from him. Right from the get go I thought he's trying to run skooma. However when I go into the cave where he has his "crops" growing I find a narrow winding tunnel that opens up to a masterpiece of a scene that almost took my breath away and brought back that feeling I got with Morrowind of it being an alien landscape. The beauty of that cave which was just used for one simple sidequest that took all of 5 minutes ( I took my time taking in and enjoying the scene) was increadible.
The other quest was one that was out in the middle of nowhere on the opposite side of VVardenfell from Seyda Neen, where I ran into an incompatant "assistant" who wanted me to go in and find her master and make sure he was alright ... a set up for easily half the quests in any Elder Scrolls game which I have played exstensively. However this time I was greated with a charecter that actualy had personality and was written very well to be annoying. He would repeatedly get himself stuck in a room and then beg me to let him out because he got himself stuck in a room. By the time he got himself stuck in a room the last time I was so annoyed with him that when I had to guess which button to press on the wall to let him out I sat there deliberately hitting the wrong one smiling as he yelled in pain about getting shocked or whatever only to find he still did not learn his lesson.
Then we finally get to the last room where the treasure is supposed to be and we find nothing but an empty well and discarded rubbish, and so he starts blaming me for the "failure" and then I am given the chance to "suggest" the treasure might be in the well and as he goes over and starts to look in the well I am given the opportunity to push him into the well and walk off ... man that guy was annoying ... and that felt so good to hear him shouting for help as I walked out of the dungeon.

Then to add a bit of icing on the cake when I left I got to talk to his assistant who paid me for my help and was left thinking her boss was just being himself and would be along evenutally.
The idea that I could get so emotionally involved in a random side quest is a wonderful feeling and a testimony to how well put together the Morrowind expansion was. I hope that everyone gets this game and enjoyes the wonderful depths of the content it adds to the game.
