Yes. But. You need to dismount, kill, wait to get out of combat(bcs it still gets longer than any other mob), mount and continue. I do it sometimes, but when I don't is what I get. Once you do 60 VV dailies a day, it becomes a burden.
Seems like, you guys, enjoy the annoying mechanic? If it doesn't annoy you, why dont you just leave the thread alone? I don't have to be convinced its not annoying, bcs for me it is, and I don't need to be taught the obvious.

The section of the forum you chose to put this thread in is General Discussion meaning people have every right to discuss their opinions and views on the topic just as much as you.

I get annoyed by every single mob that spawns adds (spriggans, archers, etc) due to this, too: for a few seconds after killing the add, I can't harvest a node or pick a chest because I remain locked in combat for a bit. It would be nice if something got changed.

Apparently most proper answer is yes. It wont harm your experience if its changed they way would make me happy. Why not keep quiet, so ZOS mostly hear me?
"Not agree" or "Agree" is the level of extent, how many times you get pissed by it. Once you get enough, from not agree, you will agree.
I wonder why you would want it not changed?

With most mobs if they agro on you, once out of range they will go back once they take damage.

Wind stud hive doesn't follow it does take a moment longer but I think 10 minutes may be an exaggeration unless the player is staying close to it.

Its not 10 minutes, you're right, but its really long time.
I was collecting relics last time when it lead to this topic. I aggroed some hives on my way and true, I stayed close enough until I gathered the relics and a bit after that. Still, other mobs disengage if they dont hit you after certain amount of time or you go far away. In the case of hive, "far away" is really far and they didnt disengage until I gathered all the relics, killing 6-7 mobs on the way. What is bad also, bcs you have the aggro from this distant hive, after getting aggro from new mob near the relic and after killing it, you should wait like 6-7 seconds before being able to interact with the dirt pile. And thats as many times as many new mobs at relic site you aggro(bcs you need to kill them, its unavoidable).

What exactly is wrong with hives?

That they take abnormally long compared to other mobs after you've killed it before you can interact and pick up stuff?
How is it different than wasp nests? (other than having more spawns)

Personally grathwoods grapplers are what get on my nerves. I have no issues with the hives.
  • Bagatur

No, it takes abnormally long for them to disengage from combat, even if you LOS and they dont hit you and it takes times longer than any other mob. Thus, you cant just stop to pick a flower e.g, bcs if you dismount, you can run from Vivec city to Balmora before you can mount again.

Wasp nests and grapplers are not 5 meters away from each road on their corresponding maps.

Or just fix the BS mechanics so me and many other don't have to get the DB passive and don't have to pay attention on each corner?

P.S. Would you buy me DB? Just want to know would you, I actually have it.
Would you level all my 14 chars to DB level 7? Thank you!

The detection radius isn't that large, but I suppose I can see how a drunk Nord can't avoid it.

It makes you of these ppl with mindset "I dont care, as long as others get f****d up".
I never aggro hives, even tho I'm riding right next to it. Maybe you're just going too slow?

Can't go any faster, 60 riding speed + rapid maneuver.

And since the bouncing from obstacles can put you 15 meters right away from the direction you are riding, certainly you cant avoid everything.

Its related to the their(ZOS) poor physics engine, which even games from 2004 can do better. Its also related to their extremely bad pathfinding and colision logic - Im also tired to chase Tythis Andromo and Nuzhimeh here and there, my favorite is when they spawn right inside the camel in Belkarth's writs turn in point. Everyone have seen NPC ending up in unreachable locations or inside the object. Or you pet, ice wraith, standing right in front of your char when you interact with dye station.

Its not the risk or difficulty, its the annoyance of pointless and bad-thought mechanics.
Im least person who wants it easy, I have 6 tamriel heroes and did all veteran ranks before the general overland mobs nerf 2 years ago, so I know and Im not happy with general difficulty after that either.

Um. The "please shut up so ZOS only hears meeeeee" attitude really won't get you far here. Just saying.

That aside, I do actually agree. In my experience their agro is somewhat weird, they summon the bees that fly after you and hitting those should in theory make them drop agro but a lot of the times they seem to get lost otw or Idk - I don't even see any bees following me and I honestly haven't the foggiest where that hive I agroed is at that point yet I'm locked in combat. Maybe it'll be better after this patch.

As stupid is sounds on first glance it is the actual thing a sane person would find reasonable after giving a bit more thoughts than just "What a selfish prick we got here".
The logic is rather simple - if it wont affect you in foreseeable way, dont balk other ppls efforts to solve their problems/feed their needs. With posting "No, its okay as is", it obscures the severity of problem or the pure annoyance other have with the subject.

I dont have ppl with breast cancer in my family. Should I say "Dont waste money on this research project, its not big deal as they say!", as it stands from my point of view?

Looks like they might have tried addressing this (at least on PC). Taken from the latest patch notes:

It is the general discussion forums. People come here to discuss stuff and if you make a thread here people will come to your thread to discuss your ideas. It is what it is.

Furthermore, Zeni cannot possibly fix every single thing that annoys every single player in the game. Some things that annoy player X make player Y happy even, and vice versa. And after some thinking you could in fact deduce that as important as your opinion is to you(naturally), it is only as important to Zeni as that of any other single player (ergo they don't care). So if 99/100 people don't mind something but you're the 1/100 that is bothered by it, Zeni(in unlikely case where they actually read the forums and care for what they read) needs to see that such a change is not a priority - much as it might upset you specifically.

In regards to this specific issue, I share the annoyance(and hope it did get fixed with this patch) but I definitely don't share the attitude.

As my caption states, I dont demand fixing it, Im asking for it. If it goes - ok, if it doesnt - I'll find a way to overcome it.
Dont know what ppl seem to slap "discussion" here. It doesnt require any discussion, In fact, there is no actual discussion going either, first posts actually trying to deny something which they dont feel the same way about it. If I say "I hate blue/sweet/smell of roses", what can be discussed over it?

Using "1/100" examples can overturn the desired direction and is direct manipulation of the readers impression. You definitely should restrain yourself of using such examples with quantities, as it may turn the things look opposite. "1/100" is easy to read and ones mind would accept it as very few, nuisance, while the actual number of ppl agreeing here is like "1/2" which is 50 times more and is definitely not neglectable.

And finally, why 1 of 100 needs should be neglected? Minority doesnt mean insignificant. Saying it again - I dont DEMAND it here and now, I wanted to be heard, and ppl disregarding my opinion are making it not to happen. I dont see any complications understanding this.
