The only one big Pro and Contra is the vertical progression.
Pro:
- You feel the power of your choises.
Contra:
- More CP released, You feel better the power of your choises -> ZOS need time to time very big changes in CP system (nerf).
Make CP system rather horizontal progression.
Details
- 9 constellation
- 4 active star / constellation = called Star A
- 4 passive star / constellation = called Star B
Vertical/Horizontal progression
Star A are the vertical progression (powerful combat modifiers like now).
Star B are the horizontal progression. There are only convinient modifiers, no combat modifiers, for example like now these: Fortune Seeker, Merchant Favored, Treasure Hunter, Master Gatherer, War Mount, etc.
CP points
Star A and Star B same 9x4 + 9x4 stars.
Star A
- You can spend only 5 CP/star not 100 only 5. Only 5 CP every point have a decent value.
- It is mean 9x4x5=180 CP you can spend in all. It is also mean all players can spend all 180 CP (after CP 180) -> Everybody equal = better balance if once ZOS set the numbers.
Star B
- These stars active stars too, you can spend CP there too. You can spent 50 points per/star.
- It is mean 9x4x50=1800 CP.
Constraints
You can only spend CP on Star B, after you spent all CP in that constellation (You must spend first the first 20 CP on Star A)
You must unlock All constellation and star (lots of unlock: 9 constellations + 9x4 + 9x4 = 81)
Easy unlocks, long time unlocks, from every part of the game.
Unlocks for example:
- Try a duel/battleground, Visit cyrodill.
- Finish the main story.
- Save Velaste once or choose the Folium (mage guild, finish mage guild story with different choise).
- Have a lvl 50 sorcerer / dragonknight / templar / nightblade / warden.
CP Cap
- ZOS Erase CP cap. You can collect and spend as much as you have and want.
- ZOS can introduce more constellations with DLCs / Chapters. It is mean you can unlock the new constellation if you buy the DLC (buy or ESO+)/Chapter, you can unlock new stars with stories, activities, achievements related to the new content.
- Every new constellation +220 CP if every constellation have 4 Star A and 4 Star B.
Enlightement scroll
- Need a little exp rebalance, because of ~2k spendable CP.
- You can use this scroll every 20 hour once and you got +100k Enlightement exp.
- Weekly Enlightement scroll. You can use once a week and got +500k Enlightement exp.
- It is work as Reseach scroll. You can buy for Crown or you can buy ingame from vocher vendor.

Combat modifiers
As like in CP system now.
If everybody can earn all combat modifier easily (20CP/constellation) only problem is the balance, but I think it is now more easier.
