Have you ever purchased Mount Training from the crown store?

Im trying to figure out why Zenimax insists on keeping the horrid mount training system in the game. If lots of people are buying mount training, then I have my answer. In the 3 guilds im in, no one has ever bought them, aside from getting them in crown crates. So I question if they are really this "cash cow" for zenimax, If its really not making Zenimax much money, then perhaps they should revamp the very annoying and frustrating mount system.

I have 5 chars I've maxed out the skills and haven't even had time to play them and training another 5. I will most likely never have to buy it from crown store. In fact I've only bought DLC, char slots and Imperial race from crown store.

They keep it in the game because 1) it's a gold sink that 2) encourages you to log in every single day. It has very little to do with the Crown store, especially given that the mount training system has been there since launch, while the Crown Store was implemented much later.

It was designed to keep you logging in over a long period of time. The purchasable mount training from the Crown Store was literally an afterthought.

Once, when I started playing and had some crowns to spare, but never again.
It has no use for me. I don't use the mount all that much, and traininh once a day from the stablemaster might be slower, but it's just as good for my playstyle.

Honestly, I tend to convert mount training to gems with the other consumables. I find the bump it gives one's mount pretty negligible, when I could use those gems to buy something I actually want. To each their own, though.

It's too much for the convenience, I can just wait.

I noticed when I made my magward - the base speed of horses seems to be faster. I remember you had to get them to 5 or so before they could "sprint" faster than your PC could jog, and that's not true now. That's a good change, now if they could do something about the daily feeding limit...

Time-gated mount training actually pre-dates the crown store - it's been in the game since launch. (It may also have been in the betas but I don't remember.)

I think the original idea was that it'd be an incentive to keep your sub even if you weren't actively playing (back when you had to subscribe to even log into the game). Along with crafting research, hireling mail, daily quests and other time-gated things it was something you'd 'fall behind' on if you couldn't log in - something that would give certain people an incentive to keep paying, and keep logging in at least a few minutes a day.

Since they dropped the mandatory subscription it is kind of obsolete. But at that point I suspect it was more trouble to pay a developer (or a small team) for the time it'd take to remove the time-gate, especially since they could be working on other things. I'm not suggesting it'd be a big job, but it's not a big issue either so if someone's looking at the choice between removing the time gate from mount training or fixing a bug or adding a bit to the next DLC I think you can guess which they're going to choose.

So they added lessons to the crown store instead as a way of bringing back some of the original purpose.

    I've bought about 300 dollars worth of training ( 3 characters ).

    Think of it like this:

25 million active players x 25% = 6,250,000 players have purchased several crowns for training.

I think someone from ESO is sitting on their yacht drinking margarita's. :)

I recently purchased 40 of them. It was for my new warden that I'm PvP'ing with and just had to be able to relatively keep up with our guild group. I was consistently missing 50% of the fighting. :-/ Rather not have had to do that but what am I supposed to do? Be frustrated for 2 months?

They need to just implement Mount Training in the same way we have inventory and bank space upgrades. Let us just pay gold. **** I'd even pay an increased price for more than one a day or something. Mount speeds are flipping one of the worst aspects of this game.

Not really the answer I wanted to give but closest. Only buy enough to get my last 3-4 new chars to level 10 as by now am so used to speediness (done the slow way) on alts that I can't bear riding otherwise. And I go to Cyrodiil.

But only once per new chars and only for speed.

    Nope, never.

It's a daily chore thing. Sign on and right away to the stablemaster first thing, I always park characters by a stablemaster. Main character has full stamina & speed, other alts are close to max speed and halfway there on stamina.

I know it's kind of a gold sink, 250 everyday for 60 days and even more if you have multiple characters. But in the end I think it's worth it. Just means that when questing you will get to quests and quest objectives faster. In Cyrodiil you have got to be fast or your gonna miss half the fight or half a siege.

I would never spend crowns on it just because it's faster, I would rather be patient.
