Any tips on reaching champ 160? Maybe some DLC I should buy

connectedb16_ESO
So I reactivated and played through Morrowind. Iv done the main quest now and doing some dailies but my rested xp just ended at ch139 so things go much slower now and I want to get 160 before I go back into BG so I have at least same gear level.

Was thinking maybe buying a DLC quest in or are there some achievment that give tons of champ levels?

If you did all three alliance maps then you should have got to 160CP.

Every character at level 50 share and contribute to the same champion points. That means more alts, more opportunities to feed Xp into your champion points. I do all the crafting writs, Undaunted Delve, and sometimes random normal dungeons each day (if it happens to land on the Pledge quest I have that's a bonus) which give a lot of experience to my champion points.
  • connectedb16_ESO
Well i have done 2 of the alliance maps, since I have an alt(42) that I do the other one with(in cold harbor atm) and dont want to do the same quest again.

I was under the impression that Craglorn was more of a grind spot and was more looking for some real quests.

I had forgotten about the undaunted dungeon quest, just done the morrowind ones and random dungeon, will look up so i do the undaunted one too.

I have 2k crowns from something, So Im looking to maybe buy a dlc, could shell out 1k more if needed.

Personally I would say run all of one alliances zones in order, then do cold harbour and main story.

Sets you up with access to mundas stones, most crafting stations, SP, etc.

Skyreach catacombs with full training, a friend with you, ESO+ and pledge of mara if you have them, ambrosia or xp scrolls.

Other grinding places, same as above.

Craglorn does have an actual questline and the story is pretty interesting. There are also daily quests that are worth doing at least once, but you sort of need a group for those unless you are quite skilled.

Wrothgar/Orsinium has a strong quest line.

Daily/repeatable quests get boring if you repeat them too often, but with that said:
    • Wrothgar (at Morkul), the Undaunted (the male Orc questgiver), Vvardenfell (in the Hall of Justice in Vivec City), and the Thieves Guild in Hew's Bane all have daily repeatables that send you to various delves.
    • The Mages Guild has a daily repeatable that sends you to public dungeon (it's always to go to the location of the skill point challenge, pick up an item, and bring it back to the quest giver).
    • If you play a bit in the Thieves Guild, you actually open up several repeatable quests. One group -- from Kari's Tip Board -- are not on an overnight cooldown; you can repeat them as often as you want to.
    • Cyrodiil has 5 "quest hubs" with 9-10 daily repeatable quests each, most of them super-easy, except that in some of them you have to travel a considerable distance.

If you think getting to CP160 is a chore...just wait until you realize that CP160 is only the gear cap...and to be really effective in this game you need to get to CP300+. Once you do that you'll realize that you're not even 1/2 way to the CP cap of 630...and then you'll want to get that!

You, my friend, have a long, but exciting road ahead of you. Take your time, do some quests, seek out some achievements.

Here's one that will definitely have an impact on your CP's - try and get the Dolmen achievements - for the dyes and titles. Check your Journal for the requirements (under Exploration).

If you get the title "Enemy of Coldharbour" and don't see a large increase to your CP, then you did something wrong. Best part...you can go to Alik'r and join a dolmen group to get it completed. It will be boring...but your CP will flow in...

Yes, to answer the OP as well, Orsinium seems to give you the content you are looking for. Questline, dailies, and Maelstrom Arena. Since you said you wouldn't mind buying a few k more crowns, I would also suggest the 4 dlc pack. If I remember, it comes with Orsinium, Thieves, DBH, and Imperial City. Plenty of good quests, new gear and skills. Don't grind, but enjoy the content.

Good point. Whatever its other virtues or failings, Maelstrom Arena gives a ton of XP.

I like to run the dailies in Cyrodiil. If the faction you are in controls one of the maps, just guest there and go do all the dailies in the four zones. The XP isn't bad, you get loot drops, and it's a great way to level weapon and armor skills. Just remember if you are trying to power level a skill line, be sure to put as many of the skills on a single bar as you can and then make sure that is the active bar when you turn in the quest.

It may not be the fastest option, but I've leveled many alts doing this and I've found it to be less boring than other options. As a side note, I think DC got the raw end of the stick here as the questing area to the south of their base is more like a horse simulator. I'd stay away from that area if you can. The other ones might have one or two of the 10 dailies that send you cross country, but the rest you can do pretty quickly.

Also be sure to queue up for the random daily dungeon and do some PvE questing while you are queued up for it. They have increased the XP of PvE content. It's not uncommon to pull 20-50K from a single PvE quest for me.

When I have hit the 160 cap I can relax, wont mind if xp is slow then.
Sure I probably cant do trials and vet dungeons for a while since i see they ask for 300+ cp but thats fine, I can join non cp alliance wars and BG and improve my gear knowing i will get the max lvl stuff.

No grinding for me, did that before there was cp to get vet levels and it made me quit the game.. so now when im back im not gonna do the same misstake again.

yeah i was a bit interested in thieves guild or orsinium , my main is DK but my alt is a shadowblade, would be fun doing some stealing with him but im gonna focus on getting 160 first.

Seems like Il buy this orsinium DLC, done some dailies and feel like questing a bit.

Going to check the dolmen achievment, I know i have allready done a lot of dolmens, might be close if so i could do a few more.

Well that depends on your playstyle.
If you prefer leveling through questing/exploration, I'd suggest playing dlcs (you can subrscibe for 1 month so you can try all of them and if you dont like the particular dlc you can just move on to another).
If group content and pvp is your main focus in this game and you just want cp160 asap, then you can just grind (preferably when youre enlightnened). People are often looking for partners for Skyreach grind... It doesnt just make things faster, you're also getting 10% extra exp if you grind with somone (however, group of 3 and more people gets less exp than a solo player).

I went and bought the eso + membership.
This will get me enough to buy a dlc after 1 month like i wanted and like you said i can test the different ones,

Playing orsinium right now! Its not great xp but i enjoy questing and its something to do between dailies.

I got the game to play alliance pvp, but its the questing that made me come back lol, Eso does that way better than any other game out there even if i dont allways read everything.

Im at 150 now! in 10 i will try out pvp again, also hit 50 with my blacksmithing so its nice to farm some dungeons so i can make gear later.

ok, don't grind, you asked for the fastest, grinding is the fastest.

craft a full set (any level) of your gearset of choice in training (7 pieces body + weapons), make them at least purple (80 - 90% more xp)

get a ESO + subscription (10% more xp)

group with 1 friend (has to be just one, 10% more xp)

get the pledge of mara and marry that friend (10% more xp)

get some psijic ambrosia/xp crown scrolls (50 - 100 - 150% more xp depending on which one you craft/buy)

do w/e you want that give xp with that setup.

yeah i ran into a place to make julianos that seemed sweet but 7 traits per part.. I have 7 traits on sword only haha. Well its something to work toward, iv been using torugs pact most of my game time, just lately iv been using dungeon gear (4 parts of ebon rk 140) instead of crafting a new torugs set. Il craft when i get 160.

I dont have much ingame money so the resisns and stuff are premium for me.

I pretty much allways tank dungeons so the health gear from dungeon works fine. im all magic speced otherwise 1hand/shield + destrostaff.

I really wish they would deincentivize that. Seeing those hordes running between dolmens and wayshrines really hurts the atmosphere in this game. Feels like a cheap, overbotted asia grinder.
