At least you can ignore them, on xbox all you can really do is block/mute them but that only works to prevent you from grouping with them.

I wish there was an option to turn off zone or any specific chat room on xbox, normal chat commands like '/ignore' do not work and either you turn off all chat entirely or you are subject to a constant barrage of sexually explicit verbal abuse between players as well as long streams of spammed items linked to sell. Profanity filter only works for known words which in turn leaves you with virtually the same content as if it wasn't on it the first place.

It isn't always awful but there are sometimes 2-3 hours of garbage, and there is not a great way of predicting when that will occur.

The ignore list is already heavily abused. There is absolutely zero reason to have an ignore list size anywhere near the current cap. If you have a huge ignore list, then you might want to do some self-reflection and/or see a therapist. I don't say that to be rude, but this is an MMO and it hinges on social interaction to a significant degree.

If you want to play without being disturbed however, that's totally understandable, just use offline mode.

How exactly does one abuse an ignore list? How is it affecting anyone's game play outside of the persons own ignore list?

I could see there being one exception that would actually justify having 100+ people on ignire and that would be if a female player had a poorly choosen account name and didnt want to make a new account, and was constantly harrassed but i domt think eso community is quite like that anyway.

I agree with you. I mostly deal with this problem by deleting the user accounts I don't remember, it's an endless cycle, and I've had to ignore a lot more recently with the flux of the children/college students home for the summer, as evidenced through many hostile and immature replies in the thread. 500 would be nice at the very least. As for the politics commentators, that's a whole other animal. Usually at late nights, I notice basement dwelling types who are under the assumption no women play the game. The level of the zone chat is a cesspool usually around then.

Anyway, there is the fact most of these kids will stop playing in a matter of 4-5 months as well, they tend to have short attention spans (and as for the regulars trolling your thread half are probably pvp nonstop), so for every one you remove from your block list, you probably won't see them again or much if you do pve and dungeoning.
