There are a lot of people out there who don't have a filter when they're anonymous. Sure, you could temporarily ignore them, but like I say, when you see garbage piling up, it's time to take out the trash.
There shouldn't be a limit on chat ignores because it's a part of the game that the ESRB doesn't rate. So it should be up to the individual to decide how much or how little of it he or she wants to deal with. Some people like *** jokes. Some people like *** jokes. But a lot of people don't and if they want a zero tolerance on it that should be up to the individual.
Not for ZOS to force people to curate a list of the 'worst' offenders.
I agree with this. No limit is actually the best way to go with it. Too many of these random's that I have to ignore don't have any manners. It all starts with their up bringing. You can tell that the parents of these people didn't teach them any manners or how to keep there mouths shut and show respect to others. Too many of these people have no shame. The ignore feature needs to be greatly enhanced so that I can mute or ignore who ever for what ever reason that I want. Too many people like to share personal subjects in zone that I don't care to listen too. Then when someone says something about it, they get offended.
I just mute them. They don't contribute positively to my gaming experience and I wouldn't socialize with those people in real life anyway. Too many people also accuse others of nefarious acts in game. They get muted instantly when they whisper me. I don't care to deal with these clowns and I don't have time for them. I should be able to just mute them instantly to keep me from responding to them in a way that there parents obviously need too. Its obvious that these kids parents think that Zos is providing a baby sitter service for them. That's partially whats wrong with these kids today. The parents let the video game raise them.
No Limit Mute is the best way to go!

✭I agree with OP. We should be able to block as many people as we want. I am absolutely not naming and shaming, but some people are just foul. I am not easily offended, but why should reasonable adults who know how to conduct themselves in public be restricted from using the chat feature because some immature child-like people can't control themselves?
@CMFan No one is preventing you from using the chat
Remove the oldest members of your blocklist, write a note on anyone who's bothered you bad enough to never be unblocked. If your list is absolutely full of notes after this process, I would go so far as to say the problem isn't the other people

The ignore list is already heavily abused. There is absolutely zero reason to have an ignore list size anywhere near the current cap. If you have a huge ignore list, then you might want to do some self-reflection and/or see a therapist. I don't say that to be rude, but this is an MMO and it hinges on social interaction to a significant degree.
If you want to play without being disturbed however, that's totally understandable, just use offline mode.0 -

I find absolutely no reason to observe ZONE chat or most of the other channels for that matter. It has nothing to do with being nice.
Some known PVP players are receiving whispers all the time from dozens of different alliance players in Cyrodiil.
The whispers can be either spam, hate whispers for leading the alliance to victory etc.
The whispers themselves can distract the player from focusing in the map/battle, wasting time in reading BS.
If a person can't ignore them all, the only other option is to toggle social mode to offline.
The ignore list needs to be more than 500 ignores, more like 1,000 ignores .
Friends list needs to be 1,000 friends too.

✭✭I consider myself to be pretty unsociable and intolerant but I probably only have 5 people on my ignore list. The rest of the people who annoy me I just learn to 'ignore' without needing to add them to my ignore list.
My suggestion is that some people are not suited for MMO's and would be better off elsewhere. Sure there are some annoying, nasty, rude, unfriendly, ignorant and horrible people out there but isn't that just life?Australian on PS4 NA server.

I never understood people who decide to put others on ignore and then feel the need to announce it. I find people in zone chat quite entertaining. Why? Because of their sheer stupidity. How about this piece of advice for the next time someone annoys you? Brush it off. There is no point to getting upset when stupid people "annoy" you. How exactly do you deal with a co-worker that does nothing but annoy you? Do you put them on an ignore list too?0
