asuitandtyb14_ESO✭✭✭✭✭I've actually been trying to wrap my brain around this question. I have been trying to create a warden with a animal companion focus from a lore perspective, and therein is my issue. All of the base line animal companion skills are Morrowind creatures. This makes me inclined to lean towards Dunmer, or possibly a Bosmer who grew up on Vvardenfell.
The bear throws a wrench in the works however. Bears do not inhabit Vvardenfell, and so they clash with the rest of the theme of the animal companion line. The bear as a pet makes me lean towards Nord, Orsimer, or again possibly Bosmer, but then I would not want to use the rest of the animal companion line from a lore perspective. I'm not really sure how to approach this issue.1 -

Since the Warden has a strong regen from skills, I was wondering if the racial passive stam/magicka regen do really contribute.

✭✭I am leaning towards:
PvE dps magicka warden - Altmer (pref) or Breton (these along with Dunmer are the best choices for a magicka dps, but dunmer is of no benefit for warden)
PvE dps melee stamina warden - Redguard most preferably but other stam races such as Khajit or Imperial could also work
PvE dps ranged stamina warden - Bosmer is the strongest choice here
PvE healer warden - Argonian (pref) but Altmer would be ok as well
PvE tank warden - Imperial (pref) but Orc or Nord would be ok as well.

@Olupajmibanan thanks for your detailed list, I find it very useful.
I propose some modifications (in bold).
PvE dps magicka warden - Altmer (pref) or Breton (these along with Dunmer are the best choices for a magicka dps, but dunmer is of no benefit for warden)
PvE dps melee stamina warden - Redguard most preferably but other stam races such as Khajit or Imperial could also work.
PVP dps melee stamina warden - Redguard, Khajiit,Orc make a strong choice I guess.
PvE dps ranged stamina warden - Bosmer, but I would also add Khajiit for the the 8% additional critical damages, although bow templates usually use damages overtime (poison) and that Khajiit don't get the max stamina bonus that have Bosmers, and have lower regen stam bonuses than Bosmer.
PVP dps ranged stamina warden - Khajiit, Bosmer?
PvE healer warden - Argonian (pref) but Altmer would be ok as well
PvE tank warden - Imperial (pref), + I think that Argonian make a pretty cool tanks for the additional healing done and received, and the "Resource" trait that give 12% stam+magicka+health at each potion taken is I think very nice (every minute or less)/b] (nice @michmbk!). Then, I agree that Orcs, Redguard and Nords are ok as well.

✭✭I chose Argonian since they are the best race to do every role in the game, their passives are just great for everything.
I started as a magika DPS then changed to stamina Tank, after that I will level Stamina dps weapon trees, then level healer trees, after that I can just pay some gold and change to any role I like without having to level another warden.
Passives:
1- Max 3% magika is almost negligable but its there, but the stats restore with potion is great for sustain on any role in pvp and pve.
2- Max 9% health is great and and gives you a chance to spend points on your main resource more so it can be the same as a max main resource passive. The poison and disease resist is great for some part in pve and amazing in pvp against most stamina classes.
3- The healing done and healing received is great for tanks and healers in PVE and very useful in PvP as your self heals can be boosted by 10%.
Oh and the 50% faster swim speed is just game breaking, so OP :PEdited by Bigevilpeter on June 11, 2017 11:20AM3 -

The Guardian is always of the Grizzly race. His companion can be any race though.3 -
