They only said it was 'intended, but now they are saying that they are listening to feedback and are looking into it.

Who's feedback do they listen to? coz it not the players feedback as far as I can tell.

Whenever they find that people are enjoying the game too much, they decide they have to nerf something. :/
Sorry to sound so cynical, but that's how it seems lately. I'm sure they say it's for "balance" or something.

After weeks of people mentioning that pets didnt regen health out of combat and not being mentioned in the patch notes, we all thought it was a bug. Like who complained about pets healing back to full out of combat? Then conveniently, GinaBruno states that it was "accidentally" left out of the patch notes and that it was working as intended. Seems more like hey, we messed up, not gonna bother fixing, so lets just keep it in the game. But when glitches and bugs are present that benefit players, they fix that up in a jiffy. But hopefully our feedback will allow pets to regen again. i dont mind the damage nerfs, but that no healing sure stinks

Hey guys, apologies for the delay. We got some answers tracked down for you and this is, actually, intended behavior. There were some changes for pets that went in back on the PTS, and unfortunately the patch notes for the changes were missed. Here are the things we changed and what is currently live:
    • Removed passive healing from summoned pets.
    • Increased a pet's damage reduction to radius attacks to 85% from 75%. This bonus applies to all attacks in Trials.
    • Clannfear pets no longer taunt enemies in Trials.

Hey guys, just letting you know we've been reading all your feedback in this thread, and plan to re-evaluate the changes made to pet health regeneration in the future.

I think it was done to prevent bots from afk leveling.

...that is actually an implementation I hadn't considered.

It's still an awful idea, but if someone had said that as part of the intention, I'd have at least understood.

If you're moving I think your pet should regen health. If they left it like that it would be a great tool for bots. Bots don't usually move.

Yes they do, depending on what they're doing. You see bot trains running back and forth in some locations around the map, using sorc summons to farm mobs along the path.

Could just change pet behavior to attack targets that the player has attacked first instead of reacting to when the player has been attacked, like Assist Mode from WoW. Another idea is to have mobs drop no loot if the player took no action in dealing damage to what the Pets have attacked. That also came from WoW to prevent Bot Hunters from leaving their Pets on Defensive Mode doing all the killing while standing in aggressive mob areas.

I can only think it's a nerf to the ability of petsorcs to solo dungeons etc.. I guess it means trinimac may make a comeback?

Removing in-combat regeneration is questionable, but okay. I don't think that makes a huge difference.

Removing out of combat regeneration is completely absurd. Resummoning your half dead pet after a fight is as stupid as changing zones for receiving mail. (I would really like to know how much unnecessary server stress the latter creates)

The stupid bear was the first thing I replaced in PvP. That bear is so dumb, I would not be surprised if it went to catch some slaughterfish.

And a bot could not automatically resummon a pet? Lazy non-botters mabye? Interesting idea... I will try this with the auto-ressurect bear just for fun.

Thinking of it: I think Blizzard had a similar problem with the Hunter. At least I think this is the reason why kills don't count if the player has not done any damage to the mob before the pet kills it. -- Can be annoying though, if the pet one-shots things in lower level zones.

Well there aren't any "lower level" zones per se. Out of combat health regeneration could have just been lowered, removed all together doesn't make sense.

Responding to me? "lower level zones" was refering to an annoyance in WoW as a result of their solution. That obviously does not apply to ESO with level scaling. The Blizzard solution should work great in ESO without the loss of pet regen.
