Leveling Mages Guild for a stam build -- is there any use in it?
Title says it all. I'm wondering is stamina users ever find a good reason to use Mages Guild abilities, or are they all really only useful for Magicka builds?
Mages' Guild tree for Stamina users?
Unless very specific PvP build - no.
Unless some PvE tanking build utilizing Balance (Equilibrium morph) - no.
Generally speaking - no.
For radiant mage light either to prevent gank stuns or to pop it to get mage's guild empower passive. Meteor is a nice ulti even for stam....even fro pve content. Not a make or break tree for stam but it's still useful.
Mazari the Resurrected (AD)- PVP stamplar main
Maz the Druid - PVP group stam warden

Yes, Might of the Guild passive is very useful to provide empower (20% additional damage) if you use magelight for example before using your ultimate or any ability from stealth.
Radiant mage light was massively nerfed (no longer halves damage from enemy sneak attacks), so I would go instead with Inner Light morph.
Doesn't the comet scale off Magicka or Stam which ever is the highest?
Everything in the Mage's Guild tree is all Magic.
All ultimates scale off of either Stam or Mag, depending which is higher. It does magic damage though, so it is affected by the various Magicka champion point passives. In non-cp, you could use it on a stam character with no real disadvantage.

And all ultimates scale off your highest resource, weapon/spell damage. So while it does magic damage and won't scale further with CPs, Meteor is still a very good ultimate and viable for stam characters depending on the class. If I didn't have vma DW weapons I might use Meteor on my stam sorc because options are limited as far as class ultimates are concerned.
Shooting star is a very versatile ultimate and so its good if you only have one usable ultimate slot. I use it a lot as stamblade since i want soul harvest for its passive. I imagine support roles might have a utility/support ultimate they use most of the time and want an all purpose damage ultimate option. The best thing about it is you can drop it in large trash fights and get a massive amount of ultimate back so it can be used pretty liberally in some situations where you might want to otherwise be saving your other ultimate for a critical situation.
My pvp stamblade uses mage guild for a couple of reasons:
1. Radiant magelight is a better way to pull people out of sneak than camo hunter. It's a magic dump so it doesn't burn my stam, and also just works better.
2. In ganking, it's important to buff the launch attack to the max. Might of the Guild is a mage guild passive that increases your damage by 20% on your next attack after pulling a mage guild ability. Doing this before the initial hit is very impactful. Also it's good to use before an ultimate.
This said, it's a heck of a lot of work to level mage guild to 10 to get the full benefits. If I were starting a stam character now...considering all the powerful ultimates for them and less of a need to unlock Comet...I'd pick up lore books as I found them, but wouldn't grind the line like I did on my earlier toons.
