Perhaps this is a troll post, but if not what platform? PC NA is usually very busy.

It's also a bigger map to spread out in ... 20% larger than Wrothgar.

At any rate, I still see a lot of players around wherever I go.

Whats the problem with that? Less lag, less FPS drops, all chests and nodes mine.

Sorry should have specified. On Xbox I was on last night and hardly ran into one other player. Not that I'm complaining about the lack of other people, I play solo mostly anyway, but I was just concerned Morrowind didn't sell well or something.

On PC it was fairly crowded a couple hours ago, before I logged off. I was running into a situation where the quests I ran were swarmed with players, and I actually had to wait for respawns a few times. Also had NPCs responding to things that didn't happen, because the enemies had either been kited off their spawn or were currently dead.

People were there, just not all that many (not like the major hubs)

Probably a good chunk are BGs, Wardens, or main quest.

Yeah Vivec was like completely surrounded by players last night

Also OP, you could have been on a low pop instance

Vvardenfall is probably empty, but I'm pretty sure Vvardenfell isn't.

It was so packed the first few days, i decided to wait to begin my questing there. The land mass is larger that it appears on the map (like a Tardis). So perhaps everyone has moved on further in the quest lines that you?

During early access it was maddeningly crowded, but it's a bit less crowded now. I still see people all over when I go, though, even now.

My guess is OP is in an instance with few people. I have seen the zone active early and often.

There was a pole taken on this forum recently that asked where people on the Xbox NA server lived. More people indicated East Coast than West Coast; I'm on the West Coast and now start a little later (9ish) than I used to.

I'm finding that I DC less, there's less players in almost every area and I'm enjoying things WAY more. My hope that some EST players will be logged off by the time I start is paying off. I still DC in Wrothgar...can't win 'em all.

TBH...it has been difficult waiting until later in the evening with the Morrowind release. I find myself killing time on the forums reading about what I may do that night. Oh glorious addiction...

I'm purposely waiting about a month before questing in Vvardenfell.... it is overflowing with players atm.

Interesting. Xb1 Europe is full. I love it when I come across others in random places.

I think most ppl that wanted mw got it be for EA was over first few days of ea the starting area off the boat had allot of ppl could hardly see quest npc's - launch day maybe 12 ppl there. It might be the new zone but it's also the new starter zone
so once you are done with it why stay? and new ppl don't even get mundas stones there it's pretty much a larger Bleakrock Isle.
The only reason i can think of to stay there is to use it as the new crafting hub in vivic city

Can't be ps4 NA. There are players everywhere, even random obscure locations...

One thing I noticed about Morrowind (PC/NA) during early access is it had/has a lot of separate instances. If I ported to another player (friend/guildie) I'd end up in the same instance but if I tried to meet up with someone just by porting to location we'd often be in different instances.

On pc most of the players who created an new warden has probably finished and moved on.

It might also be instancing, the high number of instances who was used at launch now leave few players in zone as many has moved on.

Back after pc pre order launch it tended to be more players than enemies in quest delves,
Sneak missions felt pretty stupid with 20 other players sneaking around.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.
