Dolby Atmos Support for Xbox One and Scorpio

CommanderROR
Hi there!

Since MS has now enabled Dolby Atmos for AVR and Headphones on PC and XBOX One (S) and has provided API and tools for Game Devs, I'd like to ask what plans Zenimax has to support this in ESO.
RPG games can benefit from immersive audio in different ways, both when it comes to atmosphere (birds singing, wind, rain, cave and castle echoes etc) and when it comes to combat. The 7.1 Channel sound is already quite good, so stepping it up to 3D object based audio should be a logical next step.

Imagine how awesome it could sound (and feel) if arrows rain down on you, your spells arc naturally through three dimensional space, meteors come slamming down etc.

Since ESO was among the first games to make use of PS4 Pro's 4K and HDR ability, I'm hoping the same will happen with the new Sound standard.

Thanks!

I'd love a response mid next week on this after the E3 stuff

I now realized I need a 9.2 receiver tho instead of 7.1 as I don't want to give up my side speakers or rear for Dolby atmos

Since Atmos always carries the 7.1 channel core as fallback you wouldn't have to change anything right away. I would recommend it though, because even with an upmixer (I use DTS Neural:X) you already gain a lot. Native support would obviously be even better though...
