I'll give you the benefit of the doubt regarding the exterior since everyone is pretty much split on its design, myself included. Sure, it' got a bit of a fleshy look to it, but I can get pat that. That's not my main concern. it's that the upper half is just...so underwhelming. So small, especially for a notable house.

I mean, I believe that the tower isn't a complete letdown. In fact, if they just replace the upper half of the Telvanni tower home with Tel Mora or Tel Aruhn's upper half, I'd probably shut up, several other people might not complain as much, and it'd be far more valuable as a player home. Is that change to the upper half really so much to ask? :(

I've just been to look at this tower on PTS.

I would like to have a wizard's tower for my mages, but this isn't it.

Four small rooms and a dock.

Much of the interior space is obstructed by fleshy excrescences. The "teleport" takes up even more of the available space than the enormous staircases in the other Vvardenfell homes.

Just far too ugly to be enjoyable.

After the magnificent and very functional Telvani towers in TESIII & V this is a complete let down.

Pay crowns for this? No, thank you.

Agreed. I've said this in a similar thread, but it's better than living in a "Smurf's" home. It will be the first home I have liked enough to purchase.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder it seems.

I and others have been requesting some improvements on Tel Galen since closed beta. I am still hoping that in the nearly 2 weeks until it becomes available they will heed some of my, and others' suggestions and expand some of the more unfortunately small sections of Tel Galen (most notably the closet that is the upper tower)

My personal opinion is that the lower tower also should be expanded substantially, but even if they would only use a different upper tower template than the one in use currently, that would make a very big difference, at least for me.

Only time will tell, but with a fair bit of time left until it is made available properly, I will continue to hold out hope.

This is all subject to change, but if you hit f5 to purchase it, for a split second it shows a price of 1,300,000 gold. If you translate that to crowns (using the Hlaalu House as conversion), then it should be 7000 crowns (or less due to how ugly the textures are). This is pure speculation, however, and in no way depicts what it actually will cost.

That would make it a third the gold price of the other Notables. While the smaller interior certainly justifies a price drop, I doubt they'd drop it that much (though it'd be great if they did!). My guess is that they copied the price coding of the Amaya Lodge and then hid it, and just haven't set the actual price yet, so you're seeing the ghost of the Amaya Lake Lodge price, not the Tel's.

Honestly, I agree. The interior of Tel Galen is pretty "meh" and the exterior is pretty middling compared to the other Notables. There's not much "wow" factor in it, like there is with the other Notables. You're basically buying it for the unique design and bragging rights. I'd be pleasantly surprised if it were considered a Large Classic.

But it's a Crown Exclusive and, so far, those have been Notables. I'm not sure whether Tel Galen has been officially announced as a Notable, but forum consensus seems to believe it will be. We'll find out in a week and a half.

Indeed. IIRC, however, the other Morrowind homes (besides the penthouse) were classified as notable before they were complete, so perhaps the same can be said about Tel Galen. At least, I hope that is the case. I can't imagine it being worth the 12k crowns that the others are. Hopefully, after the (apparent) success of the Dwemer spider mount (even if it is a bit ridiculous. at least it is priced reasonably compared to older mounts *cough* elk *cough*), @ZOS will see that lower price= more purchases= more money in the end. Just wishful thinking, however.

"Notable" doesn't necessarily have to mean that it's really large. Sure, Earthtear and Grand Topal were, but "Notable" could just mean that the home is unique for one reason or another. Earthtear is a large cavern; Grand Topal is an island; Tel Galen is a FUGLY "mushroom" (seriously, it looks more like corprus disease) tower.

So much yes. I call the mushroom houses in Morrowind the "flesh atronach" houses. *shudder* :s People were trying to tell them in beta that those textures were terrible, but they didn't listen.
I guess some people will like it, though.

Honestly, if the Tels were that color, I wouldn't mind the rest. The fact that they're flesh-colored is what makes them look so much like, well, flesh.

I compared Tel Galen to the ending of Akira last week, and now I think that's probably the best way to describe it.
