More like Lag for three years.
PvP in all its forms has lagged since ZOS broke it, refused to admit one of their changes broke it, then refused to fix it.
Since there is something fundamentally broken with PvP, there was no reason to believe battlegrounds would be any different.

I have not had any lag issues Other than what already cropped up from time already. Certainly nothing constant.

No lags for me, in fact, the game has been lag-free since the latest MW update. I play both TF and... Azura (Vivec & Sotha sil).
Check your graphic card's power and decrease the quality if it cannot handle that many players on the screen at once.

it's been horrible in PVE, particularly in certain busy area. Maybe ZOS should reduce the number of players in an instance.
Also, what about all the pets people are running around with? We know this contributes to lag from the old "pig farm" days.
