Bad Back .... Desk Top Question?

I have a herniated disc in my low back and sitting/playing for long sessions can get somewhat painful.... does anyone here have or play ESO (PC) with one of those desks that can adjust to be used in a stand up position? How hard or easy it is to play games in standing position? I have never done it before, but am looking into those types of desks.

I have one at work not at home.

It adjusts with a crank so it ranges from 4-8 to like 6-6 ergonomically according to the guy at work

I used it after a slight back injury.
The home options are usually pre set so Veridesk seems ideal if it's in the price range for you

thx for the pics and brand name to look up! But, are they easy/comfortable to use? Do you think a person could play for 2-6 hour sessions like this with a stand up / sit down rotation without it being too much of a hassle.

Sometimes I dodge IRL to avoid atks....(bob my head!) I am just worried this might cause me to actually be quickly ducking and sliding possibly causing more pain. And the fact my kids/wife would wonder, just what the heck is going on over by the computer! ;)

If you have a busted disk there is not going to be any position that is painless for hours except maybe in bed . They make really good chair supports for that while sitting . A friend of mine had his entire lower backs nerves cauterized and he can play for a couple hours at a time with a chair support . I do hope you get well as that looks very painful when I see him .

I have a herniated disc in my lower back as well. What works for me is that every 30-45 mins or so, I get up and walk around and stretch. If I don't, my lower back will start to hurt. What also helps is having a chair that provides lower back support. Those help *so much*.

Hope you find what works for you. :)

I also have a lower back issue. What chairs can you recommend?

This is the chair support we bought him and he was so happy with it . He was able to play for about an hour sometimes but eventually more with his recovery . Now he's back working and hardly logs in . He could not drive very far either and this support helped with that in the car too .

I'm going to be honest....and I'm not a Dr nor do I have medical expertise.

From having hurt my back twice...not at your level, I don't think 4-6 hour sessions is realistic for back issues on any desk

Standing with a fatigue mat (gel mat) for your feet is better than sitting in terms of back issues. If you don't have knee or feet issues that's the way to go but anything for 4-6 hours straight with back issues is a bad experience for me.
