Just out of curiosity, how much did heavy attack damage get nerfed (lightning staff)?

I heard that HA now gives more resource returns but the damage is much less.

Are lightning staff HA builds still viable (as in can pull at least 25k DPS)?

Is the damage nerf little or large?

Bonus points; anyone happen to have exact numbers of before and after.
Eg Mag dk, molten arms, sharpened VMA lightning, elegant, etc.

Patch notes stated HA damage was reduced by 15%.

from 3.0.5 patch notes

Increased the damage of Light Attacks by 15%.
Decreased the damage of Heavy Attacks by 15%.
Increased the resources restored by fully-charged Heavy Attacks by 30%.
Reduced the cast time of fully-charged Bow Heavy Attacks by 10%.
To compensate for this increased attack speed, the damage for Bow Heavy Attacks has been reduced by an additional 10% for a total of 25%, and resources restored has been reduced by 10% for a total increase of 20%.
Reduced the cast time of fully-charged Flame and Frost Heavy Attacks by 12.5%.
To compensate for this increased attack speed, the damage for Flame and Frost Heavy Attacks has been reduced by an additional 12.5% for a total of 27.5%, and resources restored has been reduced by 12.5% for a total increase of 17.5%.

keep in mind tho they also added a direct damage cp line so points into that might offset some of the decrease compared to previous as well as even further amplify the light attack gains.

but their notes were pretty clear about their intent - heavy still does more than light per shot but the light is for damage overall and the heavy is for sustain as far as general mayhem goes.

My HA DK still hits for 35k, so no worries. Off-balance lightning HA builds got a 15% Base damage nerf, but a 30% damage buff against off-balance enemies.

Go with a charged lightningstaff instead, slot shockwall, use "PvP- morph" of whip, and spam those Powerlashes

for 0 magicka xD

Well I have no idea about the Lightning staff. BUT, before it got nerfed I did 26k damage on adds and now I do 17.4k. So it is crap because now I have to do more skills or 2x heavy so it is taking more time BUT anyways, I have managed to do it very fast with other skills (Without loosing much magicka).

This may be a noob question.. But how is the resource returned from a heavy attack calculated? Is it based on the damage done from the HA? I assumed it was based on damage, but want to make sure...

I actually have no idea, might be wrong but I don't think it has anything to do with damage
