Glyph quality vs Item quality

Which takes precedence, the glyph quality or the item quality?

For instance, if I put a gold glyph on a blue ring, do I get the benefits of the gold glyph, or is it limited by the blue ring?

Trying a few scenarios, it seems like sometimes the glyph quality wins and sometimes the item quality wins.

Stats from the glyph are not impacted by item quality.

If you apply a glyph of a higher quality it wins. If you upgrade an equip that has an enchant that is the same quality as the equip then the enchant will be upgraded as well.

The glyph stats are not related to the quality of the armor with one exception.

You always get the quality of the glyph when you enchant the piece itself. It would be a stupid design of that gold kuta was meaningless.

With dropped sets, the glyph that comes with it is tied to the armor quality. Upgrade the armor and the glyph upgrades automatically, unless you enchant over it.
